Fluffy Clouds over Gahoe-dong

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug

We’ve had some nice, fluffy white clouds in the skies since yesterday.

I’m guessing this is due to the heat wave, but I’m sure the more meteorologically savvy among you will give me the specifics.

Somebody, remind me this month to pick up a graduated ND filter.

On sunny day shots like those, a circular polarized filter brightens colors and contrasts. Best of all, it whitens the clouds and blues the sky.

As for the clouds in your pics, google for "cumulus fractus".

This is why I opened this blog. Would I have learned about "cumulus fractus" otherwise? I think not.

    I like the contrast.

Me, too. Still need a graduated ND filter, though.

Hi Robert – Like you recent images – nice work! I don't know much about clouds but would recommend a 0.6 ND grad as a good start. Lee filters are probably the best. Have fun.

Thanks, Simon. A friend uses the Lee filters and seems to like 'em.
