Winter palaces / Travel & Photo Links, Feb 5, 2012

We had some snow and cold weather recently in Seoul. Sadly, I didn’t get much time to photograph the snowy scenery, but I did run over to Deoksugung one lunch hour to shoot the winter-white palace.

I was hoping the snow would last until Saturday, but alas, by Saturday morning, much of the snow had melted. On my way home, I stopped by Gyeongbokgung Palace, but admission had already ended at 4 pm. Everyone and their brother has taken this shot, but still, the way in which the gate harmonizes with Mt. Bugaksan never really gets old.

Must be pretty cold if the snow sticks around until lunch.

Thanks, as always, for mentioning my blog both here and in Seoul Magazine. I get a lot of traffic as a result.

Thanks for the link. Wintery stuff is on the way including my hike up Hallasan through several feet of snow last week, a visit to the Jeju Gwandeokjeong in a snow storm, the Tamnaguk Ipchun Gut Nori Festival, and the Jeongweol Daeboreum Fire Festival.
