It’s not quite as visceral an experience as Gears of War (vrum, vrum!), and the single player campaign is a bit short, but aside from that, Call of Duty 4 absolutely rocks.

It took a month, but I finally got my Xbox 360 back last night. Or more accurately, I got a replacement Xbox last night. Which means I’ll be picking up Call of Duty 4 this weekend. I’m thinking Bioshock might be in the cards, too.

Picked up Sierra’s World in Conflict this weekend. Very righteous it is, but it may prompt me to upgrade my computer hardware.

The IKKFL (the semi-official fantasy football league of the Marmot’s Hole) is halfway done.  The current standings are below the fold.

We need a replacement player ASAP.  If you take the challenge, you will have a 4-4 team which includes Randy Moss, Plaxico Burress and Travis Henry.  They have suffered through two weeks of absentee management but still have a good shot at the playoffs (half the teams in our 12-team league will make it).

Memo to the team at Microsoft: As you promote your new game Halo 3 in Korea, try not to have the “Master Chief” character be photographed buying cigarettes at a GS-25. It does not set a good example for the kiddies.

The Insular Korean Kluster (fantasy) Football League needs two new owners to take over teams.  It is a keeper league and the keeper deadline is this Wednesday, so act fast if you want a spot.

Both of the available teams are led by solid RBs (Shaun Alexander and Steven Jackson) so you will have a good shot at making the play offs.

건바운드 or “Gunbound” is a South Korean multiplayer online game that is so popular that one of the top Gunbound gamers in the world (Brazil) was kidnapped at gunpoint and held for his password.  Apparently, the guy refused to give out the “sekret” word and was released five hours later, whereupon the four assailants were arrested.

Tom Clancy’s last couple of novels may have left something to be desired (well, at least The Bear and the Dragon sucked), but damn, Ubisoft has been producing some kickass games, and this looks flat-out awesome [IGN]. Makes me want to pick up a PS3.
