in Stupid Foreigner Tricks

NoCutNews reports that a 30-year-old Nigerian has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 23-year-old foreign English teacher in Dongducheon on Dec 29.

Police believe the Nigerian tricked the teacher, whom he met in a club, by telling her he would take her home. Instead he took her to his home, where he allegedly assaulted her.

The man fled after the assault, but he was arrested by police after he briefly stopped by his home on Feb 3.

The Nigerian had applied for refugee status in 2011, arguing that he faced persecution in Nigeria because he’d converted from Islam to Christianity.

Hey Pop, here’s a question. Suppose you’re quite well-versed in Islamic history. Would you spend time to argue with those Muslims whose die-hardism equals the magnitude of suicide bombing and who perpetually seem to toe the line of Islamic tenets/interpretations (that can justifiably be challenged by other sides)? Yes? NO?

Now, replace Islamism with whatchamacallit. Same question. Same answer.

P.S. I think it all comes down to ideology. You know it’s a batshit mad devil. Don’t get vilified for the wrong reason. Get involved and it’ll shorten your life span. You gotta stay for 4 more decades, right? ;-)

The story reporter is identified as the 고무성기자. 진자?

Yeah, google translate 진짜로 leaves a lot to be desired.^.*

Nigerians-a nation of scammers.

Oh, man…I used to LOVE whatchamacallit. Ah, the good ol’ days when I could eat whatever I wanted.

Sad, funny, perhaps both these sweeping generalizations bear some truth.

(After googling) yes, it indeed looks yummy. I want one, too!

Hummm…. I guess this guy isn’t English Teacher enough to get the usual benefit of the doubt from the expat crowd. Not one comment yet about how this is somehow the gal’s fault. I am amazed.

Nigerians can’t get E-2 visas. Why do you think he’s an English teacher?

Expations-unnation of inveterate generalizers.

Yeah, that’s my point. He’s probably not an English teacher.

18 wangkon936 February 8, 2013 at 7:04 am

Someone remembers Pig Latin from grammar school.

Is this a comfort woman thing? I have seen (and written) a lot of stupid things here, but I don’t really think today’s ESL teachers in Korea are pro-rape.

Grammar school?! Hell, I majored in it for my BS!

Hummm… that’s not really what I meant. For a lot of English teachers who spend a lot of time blogging or commenting on blogs are not really pro-rape or pro-anything, other than pro-themselves, at the expense of everything else.

Thy’re an endangered species, kinda like the Komodo dragon, self-sustaining behaviour is to be expected

23 Tapp February 8, 2013 at 8:37 am

I’ll take the bait on this one… anyone who’s excepting a ride home from someone they met at a club is asking for at least a little trouble. I’m not saying anything as crass as “she shouldn’t be dressed like that”, but don’t be stupid. If she did in fact “meet” him at the club from which they both left together, she made a terrible decision. That doesn’t let this guy off the hook by any means, but why put yourself in that situation?

One simply returned the favour with regards to the generalization of a nation containing over 300 diverse cultures and ethnicities

That’s true, but living alone overseas can make one pretty self-centred. I say this as one who did for many years and came back home.

28 yangachibastardo February 9, 2013 at 4:09 am

You’re right: when i was living in America i was a petulant asshole…ehr wait

The quality of what passes as “pasta” or “pizza” here in the states must have made you cry yourself to sleep.

I’ll continue that for you…”ehr wait, I have always been a petulant asshole”
