I think it’s one thing to be sexually liberated, but another to fall right back into the trap of thinking that as a woman you must play out the role of slapped slave that is the bread and butter of pornographic films.
There’s an excellent documentary by Chyng Sun on how porn, now a $13 billion industry in the United States, is now the underground repository for sexual aggression that is no longer deemed socially acceptable.

jd — I think because obvious satire is given more license. Nobody reasonable would think I actually loved those goats, or that I confessed to watching slap-and-beat porn. (I’ll never confess!) A reasonable person would recognize that I was tipping the cap to Anonymous_Joe and mocking a certain unnamed grim womyn’s studies major who may or may not have commented above.
Also, I have ascended beyond the plane of existence where a “job” (what is this “job” of which you speak?) is necessary. At minimum, at least one million dollars of professional-services revenue has found its way to me each of the last seven years. In a good year — like this year — much, much more. So I’m one of those “job creators” you all hate.
I just did the math. If I suffer an epic slowdown, work-in-progress and things in the near-term pipeline will guarantee 2013 to be another million-dollar year.
I will say that I did have a client ask me about my comments here at this blog. He said I am really ballsy because most lawyers are risk-averse mice while ol’ Uncle B lets his libertarian flag fly.

Whoa Brendon (and only since you brought it up), are you talking about what you’ve pulled in for the firm, or what you’ve pulled down for yourself? Billables or salary?
gbnhj — Not salary. Not yet. But now that I moved to a top tier firm that appears to be within reach. But the salary is not a starvation wage, that’s for sure. I am pleased with how things are working for me, and I hope the firm is pleased with how I’m working for them.
But the million figure has become a baseline origination that seems to recur without any luck at all. I could be in a coma and probably would still originate a million for the firm. (I spent two months in a hip cast in 2009 and had my best year ever, before 2012.) Since I am not in a coma, it’s gone considerably better in 2012. The new baseline may become three. And then the salary will be revisited. At that time, I expect to be having loud, ass-slapping sex wherever I feel like.
That’s it – I’m getting a goat.

The psychology of the column is very interesting. It is not about sex. It is not even all that titillating. It is essentially a long boast about her sex life. It almost reads like a self-promoting, narcissistic college application essay. This generation has been ruined by self-centeredness.
