Famed director Tony Scott — who directed “Top Gun” among many other major films — jumped to his death today off an L.A. bridge … this according to the L.A. County Coroner.
According to the Coroner, 68-year-old Scott — Ridley Scott’s brother — jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedro and Terminal Island around 12:30pm.
Tragic. I really liked his stuff—not that it would have been any less tragic if I didn’t.

RIP, Tony. I hope things are better for you now.
That was rather crass.
setnaffa: actually, my comments are offered with all sensitivity to the pain (I assume) formerly being felt by Mr. Scott.
Your remarks point out that the crass one is you. Please go ponder why you would make such a remark towards someone who hopes that someone in pain is now in a better place.
Your remarks are not directed to Mr. Scott. He’s gone. You were just trying to make yourself look less narcissistic. You failed to do anything but offer a left-handed recommendation to commit suicide.
If you want to actually help others, join a hospice program. And don’t brag about it online. People with cancer need others to care about them before they die. Not vulgar platitudes on a blog.
Even one as well-directed as Robert’s.
Huh? You really got all that from “I hope things are better for you
now”?
Ah, clearly you don’t posess the ability to read minds, Dww.
