That was fun. That horse-riding dance was popular back in high school. The “pony dance” I think it was called. I did a version of it myself though it probably looked more like the “jackass dance.”
Watched the video, but too much imagery. Kangnam is a diverse and big place. How would Kangnam Style be written in words? I’m coming away with saucy imprudent lasses.
He’s most certainly not underground. He does too many TV appearances and product endorsements for that. Also, I thought he quit Berklee to pursue his music career.
Wouldn’t it be funny if Psy, who’s very critical of K-pop for its cookie-cutter approach to music, became the first real “Hallyu star” in North America?
@someguy – problem being, if Youtube hits a hallyu star make, Hyuna’s already done it with “Bubble Pop”
Hoju Saram’s right that it’s quite reminiscent of LMFAO. Perhaps it was intentional – when was the last time a few unattractive dudes stretched a good hook and a tacky look quite as far as LMFAO did in pop music, thanks to a well-executed, winking video?
I think this song sounds a lot like LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’, of which someone created a hilarious North Korean themed video to go along with the music – Keep on Party Rockin’ in the ROK and the DPRK – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJNBfBr-OGU
Oh yes indeedy hoju_saram I can see how easy it’s to confuse that waggling your dong clip, as being remarkable similar to the horse dance in Psy’s MV, I don’t think! Chuh!

PSY is not underground.
I thought it was brilliant – until someone wrecked it for me by directing me to the remarkably similar Sexy And I Know It. Still a fun watch.
Agreed—Gangnam Style needed more Ron Jeremy.
It got viral on reddit man.

“Underground”? I had dinner with him after his performance at a corporate employee recognition function in Seoul. Very funny guy.

Is PSY hip-hop? The music sounded like electro-dance pop. Good song though.
Where are the parodies, oppa pyongyang-style and oppa itaewon-style?
I wouldn’t hold my breath for that first one. Remember?
Sports tonight of New Zealand had psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ :

I’m rocking Kamloops-style to it, and yoga booty to boot!

How about 대구스타일? http://youtu.be/wpxUru9Y8bY
Eye Opener, a Houston-centric breakfast show, also had the Gangnam style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqOAWmxrFac

The Hongdae style fan version is hilarious.

Reminds me of how much I miss going to Busan.
