Leading up to the MLB All-Star Game, San Francisco Giants fans were accused of exploiting internet balloting to favor their own players. The Giants voted in as starters ended up answering critics by game’s end.
In terms of ballot stuffing, San Francisco Giants fans could learn a thing or two from Busan’s Lotte Giants fans. All 10 starting players in Korea’s All-Star Game will be from Lotte.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced that all 10 starting players for the Eastern League, nine position players plus the designated hitter, are members of the Giants. Catcher Kang Min-ho earned a record 892,727 votes from fans.
The game will be played in Daejeon July 21st.
On a side note: The KT also writes that Lee Dae Ho is doing quite well after leaving the Lotte Giants this season for Japan’s Orix Buffaloes following the big stink over his departure.

This reminds me of Yao Ming who, despite always being injured, was voted on to the All Star team every year he was in the NBA. And watch Jeremy Lin make the All Star team for the next 15 years. It’s pretty much guaranteed.
At least Yao was fucking GOOD when he was playing, all the way until the end of his career. The more egregious case is Allen Iverson’s selection into the 2010 All-Star Game, when he was averaging 14 points per game at a miserable .417 FG%.
If Lin keeps up his clip as a starter — 18 ppg, 7.7 apg — not having him at the ASG would be a hard case to make.
In reality Lin is ok, but the East is stacked at PG, Lin really has no business near an all star game when the likes of Rose(although injured), Dwill, Rondo, Irving, Wall, etc… are around.
but I agree, as long as their is internet voting, he will probably start even when he shouldn’t from a production level.
The game is for the fans, so if they choose Lin, then that’s who they want to see…
Every year every all star has players that don’t belong, it’s a fun game to celebrate the sport,
