Lady Gaga arrives, potentially carrying gay virus

by Bobby McGill on April 21, 2012

in South Korea

Lady Gaga set down in Incheon yesterday in an unusual getup, which is par for the course.

Her show is not until next Friday so I guess she will be taking in the sites. And, according to the Korean Association of Church Communication, infecting Koreans with gayness.

“Our Christian community needs concerted action to stop young people from being infected with homosexuality and pornography.”

No word if there will be inoculations at the door or a refund if you succumb.

Our Christian community needs concerted action to stop young people from being infected with homosexuality and pornography.

Typical Christians think that homosexuality and pornography is a virus…

don’t want our kiddies to catch the virus now do we…?

LOL at my Christian friends who refrained from watching porn and masturbating during high school because their church pastor taught them its immoral.

LOL at my Christian friends getting married at 21 so that they can finally have sex.

#2 and then possibly getting divorced years later after realizing they want to try it with more people.

4 Q April 21, 2012 at 8:15 pm

Go for this job that requires you to watch at least 100 porns per day.

5 SomeguyinKorea April 21, 2012 at 8:45 pm

If they think music can make someone gay, then maybe they should pay a bit more attention to K-pop, particularly the boy bands.

Everyone needs to calm down and take a deep breath. Lady Gaga is not here to teach English, she’s on an entertainment visa.

7 Arghaeri April 21, 2012 at 10:34 pm

What on earth has her visa status got to do with this?

New Study: Homophobes may be secretly attracted to the same sex?

The religious/Preachers etc… homophobes often say that “being gay is a choice,” which is what really pisses them off because they themselves must choose?
Why are Sunday TV etc…Priests/Preachers upset with gay people? Do gay people make them feel gay? Don’t they wear robes in pageantry form every day/week?
The repressed feel like they’re going to be sucked into the gay world and feel attraction toward the same sex.

“Science is now helping to prove the often held notion that homophobes are secretly attracted to the same sex, despite emphatic denials.”
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/04/120406234458.htm
“Homophobia is more pronounced in individuals with an unacknowledged attraction to the same sex and who grew up with authoritarian parents who forbade such desires, a series of psychology studies demonstrates.”

“Individuals who identify as straight but in psychological tests show a strong attraction to the same sex may be threatened by gays and lesbians because homosexuals remind them of similar tendencies within themselves,” explains Netta Weinstein, a lecturer at the University of Essex and the study’s lead author.”

“The study had limitations, the authors write. All participants were college students, so it may be helpful in future research to test these effects in younger adolescents still living at home and in older adults who have had more time to establish lives independent of their parents and to look at attitudes as they change over time.”

What on earth has her visa status got to do with this?

Only E2 visa holders carry AIDS, or didn’t you know that?

12 Year of the Dragon April 22, 2012 at 9:15 am

“Education is considered a very intimate relationship. According to an unofficial survey by the Prime Minister’s Office, the majority of parents wanted solid evidence of their children’s teachers’ HIV status,” said an official of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

To be fair, he also said the continuation was meant more to reassure parents and that the government was considering repealing the E-2 tests, too.

13 Arghaeri April 22, 2012 at 11:52 am

Of course I knew ThaT, but the subject was spreading gayness not AIDS :-)

14 Adams-awry April 22, 2012 at 12:22 pm

Obviously AIDS is a gay disease.

15 ecw April 22, 2012 at 1:22 pm

Homosexuality is likely caused by a pathogen.

16 bumfromkorea April 22, 2012 at 1:50 pm

Perhaps they’re picturing something like this?

17 Anonymous_Joe April 22, 2012 at 2:25 pm

If homosexuality is caused by a pathogen, then I see Korean guys showing pre-cursor symptoms. Many are a darkened noraebang born this way drink away from full-blown gay.

Christ – I almost pulled my teeth out after listening to that syrupy, monotonous mush.

Fortunately, I vomited after reading how many people found her performance moving and musical, and then I collapsed in a misanthropic fit.

The pain has gone away now, and I still have my teeth.

19 Arghaeri April 22, 2012 at 6:07 pm

OK Got it!

E2 = AIDS. AIDs = Gay

Ergo all E2′s are gay. :-)

20 Creo69 April 22, 2012 at 9:26 pm

The Korean Association of Church Communication … sometimes I wish there really was a god so these types could reap the rewards of their hatred.

21 Year of the Dragon April 23, 2012 at 8:50 am

Exactly!

The only cure is to marry a Korean and change to a F visa, or to teach illegally on a tourist visa.

# 18,
Okay, so you don’t like her. But going by your high level of “pain” I’d say you grew up with “authoritarian parents” and “feel threatened by gays and lesbians because they remind you of similar tendencies within yourself”?

And somehow that “syrupy, monotonous mush” enabled her music to be #1 in many countries throughout the world at the same time more than once. To top it off S. Korea is paying her handsomely.

23 r.rac April 23, 2012 at 5:09 pm

anybody know for sure if they will be checking id’s at this show? Got a colleague who has a 15 year old daughter with tickets who told me that the Seoul Global Center and whoever was selling tickets that they will be checking id’s to make sure no one under 18 gets in. Seems ridiculous given when they bought the tickets it was an over 12 event. Now they have some worthless tickets if she can’t get in

Excellent logic, Jkitchstk! A wry jibe at music I don’t like implies that I am a closeted homosexual! Are you suggesting that no open homosexuals find Gaga’s music feeble?

And somehow that “syrupy, monotonous mush” enabled her music to be #1 in many countries throughout the world at the same time more than once. To top it off S. Korea is paying her handsomely.

Well, now you’re getting to the point – I find it sad that so many people fawn over such a second-rate performer.

Of course, I accept that we all have different tastes, but my spirit drops each time I find out how deaf is the majority and how easily they are led astray.

That being said, good luck to Gaga – she works hard and is making a living. I’m sure she wouldn’t be bothered to read any malice into my harmless criticism of her work.

25 slim April 24, 2012 at 5:51 am

Mass popularity and quality are not mutually exclusive, but they seldom go hand-in-hand.

That Howard Stern clip was the first Lady Gaga I’d ever knowingly listened to, and frankly, I didn’t find it as bad or “syrupy” as YBT199′s comment had led me to believe. It was more soulful than ANY of the K-pop boy- and girl-band stuff fans have posted here (FWIW), and she does sing unassisted and play an instrument. Still, like Madonna, Gaga’s genius is in marketing, IMHO.

Not exactly a high bar to clear there.

Hence the (FWIW)…

What’s so great about playing an instrument ? Seriously why software generated music should be considered per se inferior ?

29 slim April 24, 2012 at 6:16 am

In my view, that separates a musician from, say, a technician or a DJ.

Good question. Sounds like some like their imaginary walls.

31 YBT199 April 24, 2012 at 8:25 am

No reason at all. Bach had excellent software – between his ears.

It’s OK – I understand that your comment was ironic, as I hope was Charles Tilly’s.

However, if you were both being serious – if you have never played an instrument and tried to master performance or composition – and you can pose such uninformed opinions and questions, then I am very sorry for the empty upbringing you must have had.

I’ll stick with the idea that you are either teasing or somehow joking. Or have drunk too much.

The alternative is too sad to contemplate.

가가 Gaga가? I could not believe she is in her mid 20s. She talks as if she had already lived her life:

“It’s about also knowing in your heart that you may never reach that glorious moment until you die, so live life on the edge — halfway between heaven and hell — and let’s all dance in the middle in purgatory.”

Gaga has a good voice, but my personal preference says that my heart feel more comfortable with this Korean lady who can sing this much cute in her mid 30s.

33 YangachiBastardo April 25, 2012 at 12:56 am

if you have never played an instrument and tried to master performance or composition

So you think making electronic music require no knowledge of composition ?
