‘Minerva’ files suit against government

by Bobby McGill on February 21, 2012

Park Dae-sung, aka, “Minerva,” has filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court, demanding the state pay 100 million won in compensation for more than 100 days of detention for blogging his market predictions.

Arrested back in 2009, prosecutors accused him of undermining Korean financial markets by spreading false information online. He was eventually acquitted. No mention if Park offered a prediction as to the possible outcome of his lawsuit or where he will invest the money if he wins.

I wish him luck. His victory in court would be good for the Korean republic.
