Possible travel agency scam?

If this is true, it’s very disturbing, and probably something people should be aware of.

Maybe he’s the same travel agent sending South Korean tourists all the way to Cambodia to dine on dog meat stew in the Pyongyang Restaurant served by North Korean dolls. See today’s NY Times

News about Kang has been out for a while. That the legal system is so stalled is only an encouragement for other criminals to follow suit.

goes by the name Wystan Kang or Joseph Kim; he works for Zenith Travel or Expert Travel; he promises he has a great fare lined up for you to Palau, Hanoi, Bangkok, Fukuoka…anywhere;

you need to wire the amount to his bank account before yo+-u can get the ticket; days start to pass and he’s not getting back to you; The ticket may have some trouble, he tells you (or maybe he doesn’t and you end up at the airport where you’re informed the ticket has been cancelled); he can’t return your money; he’s very sorry.

No way!! I know Wynstan. For the past 10 years, everytime I have travelled to Singapore, Guam, Japan, Australia, China etc, (with my kids)

I have always used Wynstan Kang from Zenith tours.

I would never even meet him. I would just email him with the plane I wanted to fly on, the departure times, and deposit the money into his bank account, and there was never a problem.

He would email the tickets and like I said – No problemo.

I always tell people – if it is too good to be true, don’t buy! News of these kinds are travel scams are rampant both in the US and abroad.

Do you ever receive free air travel notices in the mail? I get them all the time. Thing is – these are absolute scams. I can’t believe that law enforcement isn’t on top of this.

Friends of mine fell victim to this creep (well, I’m 95% sure). He left them stranded in Prague on the way back to Seoul, leaving them to purchase a new ticket out of their own funds. As someone said on the original post, let’s hope he spends the next few years tossing salad for some tattooed, sweaty Chinese gangsters.
