From here:
In a time when having few children is the norm, one couple in Chungnam Province have given birth to their 9th child.

Lee who works as a milk delivery man qualifies for 1.7 million KRW in public assistance and uses these funds to care for 13 people including his elderly parents.
9 children in Korea. Had I not seen the picture for myself I would have never believed it.

so his wife must be constantly lactating. i wonder where this milkman gets his milk……
That is actually funny.
Hah! This Korean family has nothing on the Duggars of Arkansas! Talk about the wonders of lactation, bro., the fruitful dugs of Michelle Duggars can out-lactate any Korean woman’s breastworks any day. Nineteen children! More than twice this Chungnam couple, who will need to ‘couple’ repeatedly over the next several years to catch up, and I doubt they have it in them!

Reminds me of an old Groucho Marx line. …
As the article mentions, the national and local governments now offer very interesting incentives in order to try to reverse the country’s declining birthrate. I believe Financial “prizes” have been introduced since the mid-2000′s. In the neighboring Seocheon county (Chungchongnam region), the local authorities have offered to reverse for free the sterilization procedures that were encouraged in the 70′s and 80′s (the government then sponsored vasectomies and tubal litigation surgeries).
While I doubt these people are just having kids for the money (I’m not a Sun reporter), I guess this shows that the new policies might be effective.
So that’s where all of my missionary friends have gone to! There’s something in that magic underwear.
Thank you, Jeffery, for my morning humour arousal.
Al Gore thinks they’re the cause of AGW, having all of those “poisonous” children… He probably hates them, all alone in his 30,000 square foot hovel…
Where are the Catholics in Korea? Don’t they make up 10% of the population?
Kuiwon, that was last year. They now make up 15%.

Lee who can’t afford room salons or coffee girls, let alone a proper mistress qualifies for 1.7 million KRW in public assistance and uses these funds to drown the sorrow of having had to shtup his worn-out wife after the second kid.
Poor guy. Looks so happy in the photo too, clear evidence that he is unfortunately also mentally handicapped.
Has anybody noticed that the caption in the article does not seem to match the article itself? Seems to be a wholly different family – also with 9 kids!
Just sayin…
