And for the gyopi…

by Robert Koehler on October 26, 2010

Don’t blame me — I was minding my own business listening to the History of Rome Podcast when I saw αβγδε’s link.

Pure Comedy. Danny Cho is hilarious!

3 조엘 October 26, 2010 at 3:07 pm

Gyopi? Is that plural of Gyopo?

4 Robert Koehler October 26, 2010 at 3:08 pm

Yes. Not sure you’ll find it in the dictionary, though.

5 WangKon936 October 26, 2010 at 3:18 pm

wtf?

I knew this was bound to end up here sooner or later haha.
These guys are great.
You guys should also check out Ktown cowboys on youtube.

Danny Cho is a funny guy. I’ve unintentionally wasted lots of time when I’ve found him on youtube.

I’ll take credit for coining the plural of kyopo, tyvm.

9 Granfalloon October 26, 2010 at 9:24 pm

This is awesome.

Um, the auto-tune was used “ironically,” right? Okay. Awesome.

10 theotherkorean October 26, 2010 at 10:57 pm

I thought the plural of Kyopo was Kyopos.

But anyways….

11 theotherkorean October 26, 2010 at 11:05 pm

Why do I get the feeling that wjk is one of three singing “My dick’s so big”?

12 inkevitch October 26, 2010 at 11:26 pm

They put the liver on the wrong side. Just saying. Three Korean Americans surely at least one is in med school?

13 WangKon936 October 27, 2010 at 12:22 am

inkevitch,

I take offense to that stereotype… even though I have a sister who’s a pharmacist and two cousins who are doctors… ;)

This shit is retarded.

One more reason I can rest easy and dismiss the whole “Koreans are the new Jews” nonsense.

And I thought the Jersey Shore gang was the low-point of ethno-regional stereotypes.

The thing to note about this MV is that it’s vulgar, with lyrics such as “Yes it’s my dick, come take a lick,” which is very un-kyopoish if you ask me, considering the fact that all these guys probably attend Bible study every week or have at some point in their lives. So I find cognitive dissonance here, but not of the sort one would think.

Times are changing. Kyopos seem to have moved on to the next stage of cultural assimilation in America. We are spreading across the spectrum.

Koreans are hardly the “new Jews”. Many Korean-Americans are really not that smart. αβγδε is a perfect example. In order to be Jew-like, we have to control something besides the fake hair industry for Blacks. Media would be a start. Youtube doesn’t ount.

19 αβγδε October 27, 2010 at 2:26 am

Yeah, I’m not that smart. Certainly not new-Jew level smart.

20 DLBarch October 27, 2010 at 3:11 am

Oops, looks like I need to back off a bit. Turns out that Andy Samberg of SNL’s infamous “D*ck in a Box” skit is jewish. Damn.

Oh, well, my bad.

You thinking the same thing that I’m thinking? ;)

25 WangKon936 October 27, 2010 at 5:41 am

That Jewish kung fu guy is wasting his time when there are far more effective and more “kosher” martial arts like Kav Maga.

Kav Maga. Tired and tested in the mean streets of the occupied territories.

Here’s another notable video. Is it Kpop? Nope. Forget the Korean intro and the spazzy hangeul text. It’s the newest release by Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am:

This is kimchee inspired Americana! This, with Far East hitting number 1, and the comedians of Gochu Boyz rapping about obtuse angles, almost makes me think I’ve stepped into the Twilight Zone. How bizarre.

I wonder what TheMetro thinks.

Is the middle fellow William Hung?

29 Jim_Kim October 27, 2010 at 9:25 pm

“and for the kyopi” ? I thought this site had already transitioned to being for them.

Jim_Kim,

Don’t like the Wall of the Gyopo™ stop you!
