A Romanian hacker installed spyware on POP machines that run a version of Windows used to process credit card transactions in 36 large discount stores, restaurants and gas stations throughout Korea. There is an soon to be released alternative to the kludgy Windows-OS POP devices that are very common too. Between this Microsoft-enabled hack and the compromised PIN and chip system in Korean credit cards, I wonder when the government and industry will close this security loophole.
