Three years too long….
Who will be the succeeder following the demise? The son?
Abu Rashta Kim Jong Eun the son is being prepared to assume the mantle of power, or at least is his portraits are being prepared all over the North. US State Dept appears to think that KJI’s brother in law, a big-shot, will be a kind of regent to KJE, the Dauphin of modern Koguryo…
I tend to think that KJE and a gov’t based on KJE can’t rule for long (or will have to change dramatically and dump KJE). My sincere advice to KJE is to run like hell, but from the little I know about him it seems he’s ambitious. KJI might have killed a few peeps-in-the-family to get to the throne. If his son is like that I think he could easily end up dead himself. The Juche dust has worn off…
For those hoping for unification (and I can be counted here of course) we should remember that half (?) of Korea’s history has been one of a so-called “nation” divided…
Btw anyone checked out Barbara Demick’s new book? I’ve long enjoyed her LATimes NK coverage.
