Second-generation immigrants apparently need a kind of “incubator” to adapt to life in Korea, “just like Hanawon,” a researcher told the Chosun Ilbo. “We need to increase the number of alternative schools for second-generation teenagers to gain emotional stability and learn Korean culture,” he said. Gee, perhaps they need tax-payer funded foot rubs, too. Perhaps the Korea Multicultural Congress can help.
Also on the multicultural front, the JoongAng looks at the history and present of multicultural entertainers in Korea.
So, a cruise ship carrying 710 gay male passengers will pull into Busan on March 22 for a tour of the port an nearby Gyeongju. No word if California State Senator Roy Ashburn will be on board.
Who’d have thought Busan was so much like San Diego?
