Remember this posting just a couple of weeks ago? How Safe is Seoul from an Earthquake? Well, this evening at just after 6 p.m. Seoul experienced a small earthquake (3.0). Admittedly, I felt it, but to be honest it did not occur to me that it was an earthquake – I just thought it was a huge truck going by or something.
Here are some blogs/links that cover the story. Brian in Jeollanam-do and Hanopolis.

I remember noticing the earthquake of January 20th, 2007, but I didn’t feel this recent one . . . perhaps because I was living on the 23rd floor back then, but am on merely the 2nd floor now.

Well… I live in Southern California, so that should make me an earthquake PhD. J/K.
Any who. I was ridding my bike to jr. high school back during the Whittier earthquake in the late 80′s and you know the funny thing? You don’t feel an earthquake (at least a 6.5 one like the Whittier quake) when you are on a two wheel bike. I saw power lines sway, cars stop and jiggle around, people tripping and falling down. It was surrreal. I was like what’s happening to the world? When I applied the brakes, that’s when I felt it a little bit and it dawned on me late that we were going through a significant earthquake.
So that’s what that was last night.
Riding, not “ridding.”
Double what Haksaeng said. I thought it was just someone in the downstairs office dropping something heavy.
