One Murderer Convicted and Another Suspect Possibly Hiding in Korea

by robert neff on January 30, 2010

David Nam now claims the he pulled the trigger as a panicked reaction - the victim was, after all, an elderly 77-year-old retiree.  Truly a scary encounter for the young 19-year-old gangsta-wanna-be.  Fortunately he will have a lot of time to think about this panicked reaction – the jury found him guilty with less than two hours’ deliberation.  The conviction carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

(Disclaimer – I am sure when Sperwer is 75 he will still be as imposing as he is now)

Update: Nam has been sentenced to life imprisonment.  Apparently there is some confusion – the investigator claims that Nam wanted to be caught in order to embarrass his stern father but Nam denies he said anything of that nature.  Regardless – it is good to see him gone.

Apparently there is another suspected murderer, Mr. Ye – a Canadian.  He is alleged, along with four other men, of shooting a man (one of the accused murderers’ relative) in the head over a pot robbery.  Apparently Ye has a Korean VISA that he has already extended once to stay in the country.  Toronto authorities are urging him to turn himself in to the Korean authorities or to the Canadian Embassy in Korea.

No doubt about it – Sperwer’s got guns.

Why do you shout “VISA!”?

Do you stroll into a consulate and scream “I’d like to apply for a VISA, please! NOW! HELP ME! I’VE GOT A GUN!”?

Well you don’t have to do it here, either. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

I pity the fool who would fuck with a 75 y.o. Sperwer.

I beg to disagree dogbertt, a real gangster should welcome the idea of being done in by somebody as strong as Sperwer.

We all are technically speaking killed by something: a virus, a car accident, plain old age, anything and of course we all gotta die someday. I believe the issue of when we die is fairly insignificant comparing to how we die.

Being offed by somebody of value seems to me a much better destiny than being splattered by a drunk 19 years old on a Ford Explorer or, God forbid, rotting away after 30 years at the assembly line.

Sorry for the cheap philosophy
