Yes, we’ve had Moonies come in the States and stir things up. The latest Korean cult to attract headlines in the U.S. is a chain of yoga studios called Dahn. Its alleged abuse of members has attracted considerable press as of late, including a section in CNN. Their God and Maximum Leader founder, Ilchi Lee, has been accused of fraud as well as sexual improprieties. They have also been hit with a classic American initiation ritual, otherwise known as a lawsuit.

Heh, money for nothing and your chicks for free.
(I want my, I want my, I want my MTV!)
Plus ca change… Amazing how the Korean culture can generate this stuff. “Yoga with ajosshi characteristics,” hehe. Not so far from communism with ajosshi characteristics…
Ajosshis like to tell people what to do and there will always be people out there that like to be told what to do… why do you think Islam is so popular, huh?
wonder how a salsa dancing class with ajosshi carachteristics would be
Better question: What would L. Ron Hubbard be like if he was an ajosshi? Well, in lines with Scientology theology, maybe L. Ron Hubbard WAS an ajosshi!
#4,
Slipping on a floor covered with lung butter as I attempt to spin my partner – oh yes, I’d like that!
Yoga and adjosshis – seemingly incongruous, yet it’s all part of middle-aged Hallryu.
read the article…its seems a classic case of the pot arguing with the kettle or dirtbag vs dirtierbag
the guy looks like a creepo though
I wonder why Wangkon mentioned L.Ron Hu88ard above.
When I saw this post early this morning there was a link to a video. I thought it was a video related to Dahn Not checking closely. I didn’t see that it was a Google ad before clicking.
The video was for the website http://www.thewaytohappiness.org/. This advertises a “non-religious” book of morality. Who is he author? You guessed it – Elron himself.
The $cientologi$ts are getting better at slipping their ads in unnoticed virtually everywhere.
Anecdote: A Western journalist for a US news magazine told me years ago that he couldn’t do a story on Dahn because his assistant suffered harrassment and threats from their members.
Question: Dahn and other Korean cults have branches in America. Does $cientology have one in Korea?
No, surprisingly Scientology doesn’t have a branch in Korea.
They’d make a mint with Tom Cruise as their spokesman.
Here’s the Dahn Hak leader bing interviewed on Heart-to-Heart a few years back. At that time there were already plenty of allegations being made that Dahn Hak was a cult:

Hamel: Are you afraid of L. Ron’s minions tracking you down if you mention the Church-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named without dollar signs?
Yes Wedge, the thought did cross my mind.
The Co$ is well-known for using private detectives to look up information about suppressive persons.
Dahn Hak responds to CNN and makes a video to discredit the woman accusing Lee of rape (using posts made on Dave’s ESL)
