- Korea has eliminated travel restrictions based on HIV status.
- Curzon was at the grand opening of the (Samsung C&T-built) Burj Dubai… and he’s got the photos to prove it!
- Paul in Uijeongbu knows the way to the Marmot’s heart is to post photographs of Japanese colonial-era architecture, in this case in Taipei.

- LMB has proposed inter-Korean liaison offices in Seoul and Pyongyang.
- “Avatar” is kicking ass in Korea. Was going to see a 1:30am showing of it on Saturday, but was in no condition to go when the time came. The Mrs. and I did see “Nine,” however. The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw did quite like it, and I haven’t quite decided whether I enjoyed it or not. I feel I should have liked it, but I can’t help feeling that I would have come away more satisfied watching “Mutant Chronicles” on cable. I guess part of it is that it hits on a pet peeve of mine — films about making a film. It’s like if I were to do a magazine about making a magazine: sure, I might find it interesting, but I’m not sure why anyone else should.

Wow… you can look that beastly and get a gal like KHS?
He must have other assets. He must! Right?
Well, he could be a nice guy, or maybe he listens to her when she talks about her lady stuff. I seem to recall that ladies tend to like that. At least I think one of them told me — I don’t know, because I wasn’t really listening.
Yeah… at KHS’s age, that kind of stuff tends to be more important.
Eh, good for him. I feel like that guy has played the hick in every Korean movie I have ever seen, but I can’t think of any particulars now…

The Seattle Times has a Seoul Bureau?
I believe that’s the Los Angeles Times’ bureau. The byline lists the reporter as being with them.
