And you know anyone, even a girl, who was named “Ju Ju” must have had a difficult time as a child, esp if she grew up in America. So the hubby gets lectured on his own heritage by a newly converted spouse. Ju Ju the unreconstructed twinkie gets to move beyond the typical Asian-American self-loathing and lack of identity with a new Jewish identity. According to Christopher Hitchens’s insightful essay in Vanity Fair magazine, “Why Women aren’t Funny”, Margeret Cho would be a better comedian (if that’s what she still is) indeed if she were Jewish.
