Note to Pete: prestige is a relative thing, even within a country like Korea. Many (espesially younger) people here consider being a flight attendant a good job for a woman, but ‘prestigious’ would be an exaggeration. Now, having a former flight attenant as a GF – well, that’s pretty good, but again, that’s not really prestigious either.
