Philadelphia Inquirer on Park Chan Ho’s Wife

by WangKon936 on November 4, 2009

in Japan, Korean Sports

Nice article in today’s Philly on Park Chan Ho’s wife and her cooking abilities. Obviously a human interest story as the Phillies hang on for dear life against the Yankees in the World Series.

Park’s wife is third generation Zanichi Korean who didn’t know how to cook Korean food until she married Chan Ho. She may not be as hot as Lee Seung-Yeop’s wife, but hey she cooks, she cleans and her parents are loaded (Park Choong-Seo, her father, is supposedly the 76th richest man in Japan).

Here’s hoping 낙지붂음 can save the Phillies.

Lee Seung Yeop’s wife is a belle. Definitely beautiful.

Park’s wife must be a charming, elegant, and well spoken lady.

I’m jealous of both guys.

…bibimbap (Korean fried rice flavored with fish, veggies and kimchi…

Bibimbap, California-style?

When I first read the names of the twin girls, Elynne and Selynne, I thought the cutesy and unique names seemed all-American. Then I realized that Selynne is an Anglicized version of 세린 and Elynne, 애린.

With 낙지붂음, Phillies don’t stand a chance. 낙지볶음, on the other hand…

Just a smartass way of pointing out a typo. :)

are you f’in’ kiddin’ me? two data points proves a pattern, my friend. it’s important to note the distinction between holding on for dear life and simply toying with the wankees.

You guys are missing a very important point, the woman’s father is obviously connected to various layers of Japanese social circles. This makes the marriage rock solid–cuz if he ever cheats on her–daddy will have his nuts cut off.

Chan Ho pitched a great 8th inning last game. I was almost rooting for Manuel to put him in the 9th in place of Lidge… It wasn’t like Madson had closed out the game without giving fans heartburn. 낙지볶음 would probably feel like acid while watching the Phillies self-destruct.

But those two homers by Utley and Ibanez in the 7th turned out to be huge. I’m hoping the Phillies will put up big numbers in game 6 as well, to give them some cushion for the inevitable 9th inning Yankee rally.

If the Phillies win, maybe they should celebrate with 막걸리. :)

Not necessarily. You haven’t been watching your Korean dramas. The daughter of a rich home invariably falls for a poor guy.

Usually it’s the rich guy who goes after the poor girl…

Actually, it’s a compliment wangkon. (Tell a Korean girl that she reminds you of Harisu, and she’ll be tickled to death.) On that note, name me one hetero guy — after a few beers — who would think nothing of boning Harisu. Yeah, I thought so.

I have to agree. Never trust a skinny chef as they don’t like to eat. Also, never trust a bald barber as they has no respect for hair.

A bald man may have greater reverence for hair than a hairy guy who just takes it for granted. There are many great but thin chefs because fine cuisine has less to do with quantity than quality.

He says in response to a question that being a member of the yankees is more important to him than representing his country. Not surprising, I guess, considering his refusal to play in WBC, but it’s still pretty remarkable that he would actually say that in a public forum.
