Let me second Sonagi and wish readers (and heck, even non-readers) a happy and healthy Chuseok.
I have two photo essays in the pipeline: the Mother of All Daehangno History Posts and Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. I haven’t had the time to actually write the posts, but the photos are uploaded and titled if you want a peak at what’s coming your way:
Historical Daehangno
Suwon Hwaseong Fortress
On a Chuseok theme, here are a couple of evening shots (which, if I might say so, don’t completely suck) of Suwon’s Janganmun Gate with the almost-full moon:
Gotta run off to Yeongwol, of all places, to photograph a really, really old bathroom.

I miss when flickr left all resolutions available for download. They should at least go up to 1080p so I can have more Marmot desktops ;_;
Texas wishes for a happy and healthy Chuseok to all of y’all…
Nice visual contrast between the concavities of the eaves of the gate (and the hip and ridge lines, and with the arch in the second pic), and the convexity of the rampart wall, particularly in the first pic .
those are some beautiful, beautiful photos.
Did you take these photos yourself? They are very beautiful. Mind letting me know what type of camera you have and the settings you use? I can’t get good night shots like this. I’m assuming you use a tripod for these night shots?
Yep, took ‘em myself. With a tripod, using a Nikon D300. You can view the photo data here:
