The United States might be prepared to hold bilateral talks with North Korea, but fear not — South Korean officials are telling Ye Olde Chosun that this time, those talks will be really different.
South Korea and the U.S. agree that any bilateral Washington-Pyongyang talks will be quite different in nature than on previous occasions. Several rounds of bilateral talks have been held between the U.S. and North Korea since the North Korean nuclear crisis has come to a head, but now talks are expected to take place amid tight international sanctions against the North.
We’ll see about that.

It is hard to not be cynical about any talks with North Korea considering their track record.
