Bit of old news as it happened on Sunday. Christina Kim kept things, umm… “interesting” and Michelle Wie paced the Americans with a team leading 3-0-1 record against the Europeans.
Brian Murphy over at Yahoo! Sports wonders if this will give Ms. Wie some momentum in jumpstart her up and down professional golf career:
Great event, that Solheim Cup. It had it all: passion, tears, shot-making, face paint and Christina Kim on about 13 Red Bulls….
Yes, Wie is the story…. Wie remains the most compelling figure in women’s golf, for the following reasons: Her unreal golf swing. Her stated goal as a 13-year-old to win the Masters. Her striking physical presence. Her gigantic endorsement contracts. Her innate ability to fascinate the media and the galleries. And, most of all, because of her failure to win – as a pro – anything.

Strangely compelling gal, that Christina. I think if I had to choose between Christina’s thunder thighs and Michelle’s midriff, I’d have to go with Christina. Besides, there is something unmistakably American about her over-the-top play that is hot, as in “if she’s that passionate on the field, then….”
And if she gives an ulcer to conformist Korean parents the world over, then so much the better.

Besides, there is something unmistakably American about her over-the-top play…
I disagree. There is something unmistakeably Korean-American about her antics…overbearing Korean parents, the overcompensating kyopo tendencies, plus the fact that she’s kinda like the Margeret Cho of golf – fat and trying to make up for it by trying to have a personality.
NK, fixed.
That’s funny… MargAret (not MargEret) Cho of golf… Give her a little credit. It looks like she lost a lot of weight. Makes her boobs look humongous.
