Naked News Lands on Korean Shores

by Robert Koehler on June 23, 2009

in Korean Tabloid Crap

And on the Irony Free front, the Sports Chosun — fresh off reporting about how those evil big nose-types are degrading Korean women (see below, too) — reports that Naked News has finally arrived in Korea. And they post video footage and photos from the launching ceremony:

Hey, it was between this and posting on North Korea.

Naked News Korea will have nine anchors, and service starts from today. It will also apparently have two versions — a teen version (just bikinis and lingerie) and an adult version (topless).

And there was much rejoicing.

Naked News (NSFW, despite being only a Wiki page) started off in, of all places, Toronto, and is yet another example of low-quality Canadian culture destroying global civilization. And by “low-quality,” I mean if the Wiki photo is anything to go by, they’re going to have to hire anchors with larger, well, resumes.

These korea based videos never seem to work from here in the states. What kind of actual download speeds do you guys get over there? And I really want to know why Verizon won’t set up FIOS in my area, which is like right near the heart of NYC metro.

Never worked for me as well and I was on Time Warner cable (Roadrunner) in Fort Lee.
I’m now in New Zealand and it doesn’t work here either…

Wow, I really didn’t need to look at that Wiki page (you provided fair warning, though). However, by the looks of the locally hired talent, the size mistake won’t be made twice. Damn those Canucks, though, for their cultural imperialism.

Don’t worry you didn’t miss anything other than two women in sexy nurse outfits and then two different gals in an auto showroom with shorts/halter tops, all on a big screen with those two in dresses modeling in front of it. So, are we to watch the big screen or the two in dresses? Weird!

I’m too lazy to read the Korean article, but what channel will this be on? Most Korean cable channels show nudity at night anyways, so I bet this is relatively tame.

As a patriotic Russian, I follow my duty to tell the truth about nation’s unparalleled exploits in this area. Not Canadians, but we Russians invented the ‘Naked News’. Yes!!! The idea was pioneered by the Russian M1 channel (by their producer Sergei Moskvin), and it was Svetlana Pesotskaia who did it first. It was called ‘Naked Truth’ in those crazy and wonderful days when Yelstin was heavily drinking and people around him were happily stealing.

Now I see that communist propaganda was right. In Stalin’s time they used to say that all brilliant ideas were once created in Russia, but bad and reactionary tsars failed to develop them, while those nasty foreigners were always ready to steal fruits of Russia’s intellectual briliance. And I see this happening again! What a pain… No, for the sake of history and truth (no, Truth with capital “T” ), the first lady announcer to undress in front of camera herself was Ms. Pesotskaia. It was once even admitted by the Canadians, and now…

“What kind of actual download speeds do you guys get over there?”

Put it this way FIOS would not impress. A lowly cable company can manage 14Mbps, if your in a new building with KT then you can get the 100Mbps service.

High speed internet has grown fast over the last two years in Korea to cover around 40% of internet users which represents more than 5 million, out of 12.7 million internet subscribers.
100 Mbps users are distributed as follows:

* 3.6 million are using SK Broadband access which represents 70% of the operator’s internet subscriber base
*
2.3 million are LG Powercomm customers, that is 61% of the telecom provider’s internet subscriber base
*
1.1 million users from KT which is 17% of the operator’s internet customer base.

Bless you.

Even more reason to watch with the sound off. Those whiney voices of female Korean news announcers are worse than chalk on a blackboard.

Korean?

14 Mizar5 June 25, 2009 at 4:50 am

Doesn’t matter what language they speak I suppose. The squeeky whiney voice that starts off at a pitch too high for comfort is just jarring. Combine that with the ridiculously unprofessional wardrobe and it makes you wish that she would close her mouth and disrobe – and that’s from a totally nonprurient perspective!
