That’s what the Hani is claiming:
It was confirmed Tuesday that the U.S. protested South Korea’s decision to inform media outlets of North Korea’s preparations to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) when the type of long range missile has not yet confirmed.
[...]
According to an expert on military matters who preferred to remain unnamed, the U.S. issued a strong statement about the fact that the South Korean government disclosed sensitive intelligence information regarding North Korea’s preparations to test-fire a long range missle by referring to it as an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) to media outlets. He said, “It can be interpreted that the U.S. is discontent with how South Korea arbitrarily interpreted the satellite picture provided by the U.S. and shared it with the media. He added, ”I am concerned that the Cheong Wa Dae intended to shift the public’s attention away from the death of former President Roh Moo-hyun and towards North Korea.”
The Hani also made it point to note that the US State Department has not confirmed the NIS’s claim concerning North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s selection of a successor. Nor has South Korea’s Unification Ministry, for that matter.
Anyway, in an editorial, the Hani expressed concern the US might stop sharing intelligence with Korea if the wicked Lee Myung-bak junta — and didn’t you know, today’s situation is just as bad as 1960 and 1987? — keeps releasing it for political reasons. Somehow, me thinks intelligence cooperation with the United States is the least of the Hani’s concerns.

I think there is cause for concern on how the government has been clamping down on our freedoms of late…but demanding an apology for the investigation and suicide of Roh? One can only wonder why 1900 of Seoul’s and 800 of Chungang’s Universities faculty members chose to stay out of it.
” In modern South Korean history, statements by academics have been issued each time democracy has been decisively damaged or placed in a crisis. This means now, 2009, is as grave as the situations of the April 19, 1960 revolutions or the democratic uprising of June 1987. ”
Spot the logical fallacy.
This is the problem — sure, Lee has done some disagreeable stuff. But when you have people screaming “dictator!” and making ridiculous comparisons every chance they get, you begin to realize you don’t want them anywhere near a position of power, either.
Well, at least the Gyeongnam governor seems happy with the way things are going:

These SNU professors have the combined IQ of a lemming.
Check. God forbid we distract people from their distractions.
They are socially irresponsible and ethically debased in their criticisms, unreasonable in their political views, in short, market adjumas have a better grasp of political issues than these people.
