This notice is a bit late, but I thought I would pass it along since the event needs support:
Top Class International Rugby comes to Korea!!
On Friday June 5th the official England Counties rugby team will play the Korean President’s XV. In order to increase the awareness of rugby as a sport in Korea we are trying to get as many people to the game as possible. So, to make it the best turn out a rugby match has ever seen please join us if you can. Seongnam Stadium (nearest subway is Moran), Friday June 5th at 7pm. More information at www.rugby.or.kr/england where you can download free tickets.
I also believe that Scrooge Pub in Itaewon has some special bus package, ask around.
(To Dram Man haters: I will be there, so it is a good time to carry out your revenge.)

Alread tried a few days ago and again now, but the registration fails each time, with a box saying “check ID duplication” even though there is none?
Any clues?
Sorry, all I have to offer is the shrug of Mercury.
Dammit. I work until 4:30.
@Arghaeri,
I think there’s an omission of ! as a grammar slip and guess nobody has registered up until now. Tell the site manager not to forget !!
I registered on the site no problem, and got a free ticket (one ticket is good for two people). My wife and I are going Friday it should be a lot of fun. Under the login box just click ‘join’ and fill in some very basic details. It didn’t work with Firefox on my work computer, but worked no problem with IE. I just checked and logged in with Firefox so maybe the Javascript is weird or something when it comes to creating an account.
By complete coincidence after eating at Zelen in Itaewon this evening with the missus we bumped into the English team in from of the Hamilton shopping centre. It was pretty obvious who they were big guys decked out in their England shirts. I hope they go easy on the Korean boys and don’t hurt them too much.
Seemed like a nice bunch of lads, and they’ll be happy for lots of people to make a showing. They were happy when we told them we were going and also a few others such as my friend who wrote the article in the Korea Times about the game.
Any photographer types will also be happy to know that there is a photo competition for the game too. The best 5 entries will apparently win some sort of prize, I’ll be taking my camera along to catch the action and have a go.
@ keith
Ok, I thought 2 possibilities: trivial coding problem and FireFox-IE browser problem.
I found in the source ! was missing at the ID check part bla bla…..So, didn’t test at IE bla….
Sounds about right for a Korean website…
I saw these fine chaps enjoying the delights of Itaewon’s Up & Close (hey… it’s just a bar!) last night. They were all proudly wearing their England rugby uniforms, so I snapped a few pics! Anybody know how to go about selling them to some sleazy tabloid?
Thanks, tried at work with IE, look like it was the old Korean poor web design not being to international brower independent standards.
Should be good if Korea puts out a decent side…otherwise they will get mashed! I heard KBS and Arirang will be filming the England team training today so maybe a big crowd will come out…7pm kick off means it is accessible from all over Seoul leaving work 5:30pm…
Egging the Dram-man at half time? Sounds like sport but I expect the match will be more entertaining!!
Oh and more stuff about the teams etc is posted here http://www.touchtagrugby.blogspot.com
Pretty good game. The Korean side got owned! England 108, Korea 10. No that is not a typo!
Great atmosphere, friendly crowd, beautiful weather a thoroughly enjoyable evening out. A shame more people didn’t come, the stadium was mostly pretty empty, only one side of it was populated by lots of people near the VIP bit. I took some good pictures, met some friends, had a little chat with some of the players and kicked myself when I didn’t bother getting the press pass I was offered! The ticket plus press pass would have meant free Guiness, wine, Cheese and access to the VIP area. They didn’t tell me that! And the only reason I didn’t get a press pass (though it was offered) is because I thought I’d look a little bit of a fool walking around with my little D50 +70-300mm lens when most of the other photographers there had some very serious kit.
After the game people hung around for a bit, we met some of the players, chatted with friends. A lot of fun.
Yeh, lovely evening for a game.
Do you think if the result had been a bit closer it might have made it into the Herald/Times?
It did!!! Albeit a little late
