Funny… I lived in Tanzania for over a year, but I never met anyone with a name like Ida Ljungqvist:
First Barack Obama, now this — it’s been all uphill for the East African diaspora of late. Hongera.

Yep – she hardly seems like a natural person…..

Strange, I thought the were quite a few Swedish people hanging around in Tanzania. Like, not millions, but more than random walk would predict. What part of Tanzania were you in? Sida (Swedish version of USAID) has a pretty big presence in Tanzania as far as I know. I’m pretty sure that one of the Tanzanian guys I used to work with (he lived in Dar es Salaam) told me he’d had several Swedish girlfriends.
Hujambo, bibi. Habari gani?
If I were a cognac-swilling, womanizing despot, I’d put Ms Ljungqvist on my “to-do” list.
