Memorial Day

by Andy Jackson on May 25, 2009

Today is Memorial Day in the USA (at least it will be in a few hours).

This being a Korean-centered blog, I just wish to share a list of Korean War memorials at the Korean War Veterans Association web page. Readers in the States may wish to visit one if they have a chance.

UPDATE: This is a special memorial day for the family of Eddie Schwartz. He was killed by Chinese troops on November 28, 1950 but his body was not found. It was recovered in the late 1990s in North Korea and later identified through DNA testing. He was laid to rest in in his hometown of Hoisington, Kansas last Saturday.

Thanks to the 2007 Marmot’s Hole posting on the forgotten Americans at Yanghwajin, this Memorial Day they were not.
