God Bless the North Koreans

North Korea’s very, very angry about Seoul’s intention (OK, sorta intention) to join the US-led Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) and is — sit down for this — threatening war!

Meanwhile, the North has called for talks with the South in Kaesong to discuss an “important matter”… the smart money is on Pyongyang threatening to terminate the Kaesong Industrial Complex project if Seoul joins the PSI, but the North is also holding a South Korean hostage Hyundai Asan employee under arrest, supposedly for trying to encourage a female North Korean to defect, so who knows what they want to talk about. Given the North Korean fondness for surprises, Kim Jong-il could announce he’s seen the light, was giving up nukes, would open up the political prison camps and planned to join the Grand National Party, for all I know.
