I liked this quote found in the post:

Hill offered a blunt dismissal of his hard-line foes in the administration. “These [expletive deleted] don’t know how to negotiate,” he said. “Everything is Appomattox. It’s just ‘Come out with your hands up.’ “

Good choice! The man appears to be the very definition of diplomacy, and given what he had to work with, his experience is second to none.

I just wonder who can carry on the balancing act with NK with equal aplomb?

Okay… is this a reward or a punishment?

Well, this way he can continue to work on containing North Korean nukes.

Ouch, “WangKon” is very funny today. “KWillets” has been reading the intelligence material that the former administration was using too. There are obviously WMD still there that Mr. Hill must administer to. I’m sure he can handle them all by himself.

You’ve got to admit. This guy gets the most unglamorous assignments. Must be getting a lot of hardship pay…

Sending him to problem spots that require people skills is a good idea. He is one of the nicest, genuine people I have met and that may carry some weight in the right situation.

Mr. Hill may only have regrets about not receiving such a cool moniker from the North Koreans as did John “human scum” Bolton.
