Times Must Really be Tough if You Can’t Afford Eye Lid Surgery

by WangKon936 on January 6, 2009

Per the NY Times, the global recession has hit Korea’s plastic surgery industry. It’s a sad day indeed when legions of ajummas and agasshis can’t get their regular fix of silicone via 성형 수술.

However, Korean make-up sales are up given that lipstick and eye-liner is a cheaper way of looking better. Apparently, the ladies are using more of it.

Well, dieting is always free.

Did you see the NYT City article where the dude claims a Korean grandma was working a bar?

Yes I saw it. I was speechless so didn’t put up a comment.

Well, okay, I guess halmonis and harabojis need love too?

Whoops, sorry, my Dokdo.

Hardyandtiny, did you know, only korea has a dokdo? I strongly recommend you don’t go around claiming it.

Well, at least “H&D” did not claim his dokdo was short and pointed.

Forget Eye Lid Surgery, what about boob jobs? If women suffering from tinytitosis stop having boob jobs, Korea will surely be doomed. God have mercy on us all!!!

I imagine lingerie sales are increasing substantially along with cigarettes, cheap soju, cup ramen, etc.

I like how the housewife goes shopping at the mall and lounges by the health club pool.

WHAT MALL AND WHAT POOL? surely this is not in Korea or I didn’t get out enough.

Was the stars and stripes classic also linked?

The area is the best place in Seoul to buy knock-off brands, she said, and she usually shops there three or four times a year. But she said Itaewon is dangerous, so she always leaves before dark.

“The streets … have too many foreigners rambling around,” she said. “I think the brand name shops opening lately on the main street are only a skin-deep change.”
