The Ok So-ri saga is finally over:

A regional court Wednesday sentenced actress Ok So-ri, 40, to six months in prison for adultery, which is illegal here. The sentence was suspended for two years.

In the ruling at a court in Goyang, judge Cho Min-seok said, “The accused deserves to be blamed. But we took into account her husband’s indifference to his wife and she has already gone through immense mental agony since the trial started.” Ok’s husband, Park Chul, is also a famous entertainer.

The “popera” singer she was shagging was similarly sentenced to a two-year suspended sentence.

I wonder if the prosecutor’s office will appeal this ruling, after all, they seem to have very little to do nowadays.

Well, at least they stopped short of burying her halfway and stoning her to death.

Men judging a woman’s sexual leanings makes as much sense as men telling women the women shouldn’t have control of their own bodies.

Apparently morality is still legislated, as long as it’s the right kind.

Wow, Park Chul must be STEAMED. He was the one pressing so hard for her to get the maximum jail sentence. So much for his revenge.

I’m glad she didn’t have to do any prison time. And if she’s lucky, Park Chul will get so steamed he’ll get a stroke (Karma!) and then maybe she can see her daughter.

I was wondering how da marmot could so effortlessly contradict himself by saying she avoided jail and then was given a 2 year sentence. Then I realized I had no idea what a “suspended sentence” was.

It’s not my fault. US education has failed me, and here’s to hoping Michelle Rhee can do something about it.
