US Recognizes North Korea as Nuclear State. Sorta.

by Robert Koehler on December 9, 2008

Yonhap reports that while the US government officially refuses to recognize North Korea as a nuclear states, an annual Pentagon report Yonhap News got its grubby little hands exclusively on calls North Korea a nuclear power.

More specifically, U.S. Joint Operation Command’s “Joint Operation Environment 2008″ report says “The rim of the great Asian continent is already home to five nuclear powers,” those five powers being China, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Russia.

This is the first time North Korea has been called a nuclear state in a US government report.

The report also noted that South Korea, Japan and Taiwan have the capability to become nuclear powers quickly.

On a related note, you can now get Ubisoft’s recently released EndWar for the Xbox 360. I picked it up after work yesterday and played around with it briefly. Haven’t played it enough to give it the official thumbs up, but it clearly doesn’t suck (the reviews have been decent enough), and the voice activated command system is quite cool. It will, however, take a bit of time to get used to.

Also coming out this week for the Xbox is Call of Duty: World at War, which could prove popular with Korean fans, if for no other reason than it gives you the opportunity to shoot, stab, burn, blow up and otherwise do grievous bodily harm to Japanese on a mass scale. Oh, and Kiefer Sutherland and Gary Oldman do some of the voice acting.

So that IS Kiefer Sutherland? A bunch of my teammates were arguing about it during a team deathmatch and nobody had the inclination to google it. Thanks Marmot!

Waaaaait a minute, Nintendo fanboys are some of the most fine, respectable people I know. PS3 cows are scum though.

Also, if anybody wants to party up on Xbox Live, my gamer tag is “hoofardet.” Witty, no?
