The interview of the very self-sacrificing founder of the anti-English Spectrum cafe I linked to last week has been translated for your reading enjoyment, thanks to Korea Beat.
Here’s just a sample:
But it has not been easy for him to work his office job and this one, as he has for over four years. To track down the locations of foreign teachers using drugs he spent 150 days in bitterly cold weather, outworking the police, not going home. Many times he has asked schools to fire foreign teachers who make a hobby out of having sex at knifepoint, tracked down foreign lecturers who bring venereal disease, and warned security guards and hagwon authorities about kidnappers.
Read the rest on your own.

what a fucking douche bag.
It’s ALL about pussy.
And after he cleans up Korea, he moves on to the UK to investigate those odious drug using professors at Cambridge and Oxford. Every last one of them enjoying sex at knifepoint. Citizens should be aware, to protect their children of course.
Only in Korea could one refer to sex at knifepoint as a “hobby.”
Some memorable quotes from this guy…
(following the teachers)… “wearing disguises”…???? You expect the teachers to identify you, what, as a dark complected, short, brown-eyed asian? Is he dyinghis hair blond and wearing blue contacts?
“…we must prevent our children from being taught English…” (by illegal foreign English teachers). Are you sure they are learning any English? If not, your job is moot
(Referring to young foreign English teachers:) “…there is no way to stop them from enjoying their youth…” At least not to the extent Koreans have managed to stop their own children from enjoying theirs anyway
Hmm, out all night chasing illegal foreign teachers? About time they put a tail on this guy and his “out-all-night-buddies”. Bet there wouldn’t be just one or two stop offs for a little soju and happy ending massages. I wonder if his wife buys all his bullshit.
Let’s start a collection and put up a price for any picture of this guy and his buddies caught in some of their indiscretions.
Why is this fucktard even in the news?
My guess is that this pathetic xenophobe will be seen as a genuine national hero by…75-85% of the Korean populace.
That is, if he has a wife. With him spending the night tailing English teachers, I doubt it.
He would certainly be asking for that.
omg… that would be epic. Let’s follow HIM around and wait for him to go visit his favorite “barber shop”.
Anyway, I should stop reading these stories.
What gets my goat about this guy is that if he really gave a crap about problem-teachers, he’d lobby the government to make sane E2 visa rules. He’d also lobby to bust up hagwon associations.
But no. He’s just a self-marketing “batman” who has nothing else going on in his life.
Life is so goddamned short and I just wanna smack this guy and tell him to start enjoying it.
I think part of the problem is that Koreans expect their teachers to be morally upright. It is his failure to realize (and many Koreans) that the ex-pats coming over are mostly instructors (or language facilitators)- not certified teachers. I doubt he would apply the same standards for the Korean equivalents. However, what he is doing is going beyond being a concerned citizen. This kind of activity is basically stalking. If you follow someone around long enough, you will catch them jay walking or littering. It is basically a form of harrassment targeting a minority. I think he knows that he couldn’t get away with this kind of behavior stalking Koreans. Imagine someone filming him following foreigners around. Spying on him as he changes his disguises or something would allow the watchers to see how pathetic he is. This doesn’t excuse anyone who is doing illegal things- you have to be prepared for consequences if you break the law. It is tough to watch horrendous and shocking crimes by Koreans basically go unpunished though.
I found this guy to be a disgusting asshole when I only understood parts of the article. Now that I got the whole thing, he’s downright disturbing. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but now it’s clear: Lee Eun-ung is one of the worst human beings out there. I can’t find the words to describe how much I loathe this man.
What’s worse is that the Seoul Shinmun would write such a flattering piece about him. We can put them on the asshole list too.
I’m not laughing. There is nothing funny about this. This guy is every bad thing foreigners say about Koreans, wrapped up in one living stereotype. Except he’s real.
I am not a teacher, but haven’t I heard that on an E-2 visa one can tutor privately with advanced permission from the immigration office?
You got Keith Olbermann’s number?
Actually, I really should start a section like that — my week’s pick for worst person in the Republic of Korea. Only problem being with the laws what they are, I’d probably end up getting sued.
We have to remember to keep things in perspective. In truth, this guy is to be pitied. Can you imagine what it must be like to live day by day with such a distorted world view? To have all those feelings of insecurity, inferiority, racism, hate and jealousy, and to be able to nothing of consequence to resolve them? It has to be hard. He ‘sacrifices’ himself to his own little religion, but he will never have much of a following, other than a very small minority comprised of others like himself.
He is not unique. There are haters everywhere, of all sorts, in every country. But hating is hard, stressful, unrewarding work. Much better to just let it go. If you can’t, then pity is your lot.
The Seoul Shinmun however is a different matter. They should know better. A media outlet that gives audience to people of this sort is basically promoting hate and misunderstanding. In any sensible country, legal action would be taken against them for this sort of thing.
Sure it does. How many did he meet? Korean reporters are just that: reporters; not journalists. You know how many members I think this organization has?
Oh, fuck it. It is still ALL about the pussy. That’s why there’s no point following this idiot around. So you get your money shot under the barber pole and post it on the internet. So what? Who cares? Average ajosshi looks at that, thinks “Good use of pussy.” Show a picture of a dance floor in Hongdae any Friday night, average ajosshi thinks “Criminal abuse of pussy.”
LOL,”make a hobby out of having sex at knifepoint,” sounds like the plot to one of those Korean dramas they show on cable every night.
To all of you in Korea teaching English, sorry that chuckleheads like him are out there–he sort of fills the vacuum left by the Korean government’s total abdication of responsibility for a rational, consistent education policy.
stumbler,
You are incorrect. There is absolutely NO permission you can have from ANYone that will make private tutoring legal if you are on an non-F-series visa, this includes E1, E2, and E7 teaching visas.
Immigration does not give permission for private tutoring. They setup private tutoring stings all the time to catch, fine and deport teachers who are tutoring privately.
I’m still thinking that this is a media problem. I can find people who have just about any viewpoint you’re likely to mention, but that doesn’t mean it’s ok to put it in print.
It is our own fault. We are too complacent. It wouldn’t be difficult to make the Seoul shinmun reconsider printing this kind of stuff–they just need to be taken out of their comfort zone.
If 500 of us (a small number in Seoul) chucked in fifty bucks apiece, hired a lawyer and filed a lawsuit, the result wouldn’t really matter. Win or not, it would give a strong impression that the foreign community is no longer willing to take this stuff lying down.
I wish I had the organizational skills for something like that, but I don’t. Anyone know someone who does? I’ve got my money right here, in my hand, as I type this.
“Our first obligation is to avoid a one-sided view of all foreign lecturers as bad”
Hmm. From a guy who says nothing but bad things about foreign teachers, this comes off a bit disingenuous.
“there is no way to stop them from enjoying their youth. But we must expect them to conform our society’s laws and to behave as gentlemen.”
GentleMEN? Ah-ha! So it really is all about keeping oversexed barbarians from the pure-blood Korean virgins.
Seriously, where does this guy get all the tips on these alleged illegalities? Drug-taking IN schools, sex at knifepoint, kidnapping, jesus… how does he know a foreigner has VD much less “brought it in”?
What a fucking tool. And a dangerous tool to let run around loose.
Darth:
“a dangerous tool to let run around loose.”
It’s not the wacko who is the problem, but the people who give him a voice. Confronting whack jobs is like fighting terrorism–it’s pointless.
Seoul shinmun lawsuit: let’s get it done.
As big a delusional loser wannabe ‘social justice hero’ xenophobe as this guy is and how much I would love to b*tch slap some sense into him, he really is just a pitiful waste.
Wasting his life on a delusional crusade of stalking and spreading sensationalist exaggerations and outright lies that smear the entire foreign teaching community is just sad.
My bet is this guy is single and, if ever, has not had consensual sex in ages. That’s why he’s sublimating his energy into this campaign against waygooks.
What really gets my goat is people like him- not all Koreans, mind you- and VANK minded ilk get so freaking furious when “distortions” are made about Korea/Koreans, yet they feel they are completely justified in painting all foriegners as immoral criminals who are here to hurt Koreans.
“make a hobby of having sex at knife point”
Are you f*cking kidding me?
Not every foreigner in Korea is an angel, but we are by no means the rampant rapists that this guy tries to make us out to be.
F*cking obscenely ridiculous!!!!
The icing on the cake is the assclown saying they only want to target “bad foreigners” and help the good ones. Complete bullsh*t!
Continuing inflammatory statements from him about foreigners being violent rapists and immoral criminals just serve to smear each and every one of us.
F*ck this loser!
#19 these outlandishly ridiculous accusations of his- how would he know these things?- really make me believe that he just makes most of this sh*t up to inflame people’s emotions and win them to his side.
Like my grandmother’s generation telling their kids that if they smoked pot, then they would have babies with severe birth defects- 9 heads.
Sadly, the media takes this asshole seriously.
I’d be all for chipping in for a lawyer to file a complaint in hopes of shutting this vigilante sh*t down.
PS- also like Wisconsin Senator Joe McCarthy in his furious anti-communist rants of the red scare 40′s and 50′s:
He was famous for making speeches where he would hold up his briefcase and claim to have a long list of names of known communists working in the U.S. State Department. This really worked people up and they believed him.
There never was any list. Now, we know that if one had looked in McCarthy’s briefcase, they most likely would have found a bottle of bourbon.
The guy was a loud mouth hate monger, but for a while people believed him.
‘There are times when foreign lecturers come to us to ask for help.’
Unfortunately, there may be a couple of isolated cases when this has happened. God only knows what they were thinking.
Pohang makes a motion, Benicio seconds it. Mrs Linkd and I will be happy to back you with another hundred.
But you say you lack the organizational skills. Let me help. Off the top of my head, I’d say you need to talk to a lawyer. For that first consult, you might want to have 500 bucks in your hand. For that you need 6 more people to pitch in 50 bucks each. You might be able to do that here, but beyond that, you’d better move off Robert’s blog and start a Facebook page.
You’d spend that $500 bucks to find out 2 things from the lawyer: (1) Has any crime been committed by the newspaper or Mr. Lee, and (2) What, broadly speaking, can we do about it? I think you might also need a plaintiff. Are you it? If not, who is?
Based on that consult, you decide whether you’re going to proceed or not. Hopefully, the lawyer has been able to give you enough info to let you know what you might be in for. (Be sure to add in the fact that you will DEFINITELY get some media exposure). If you drop it, that’s OK. The investment in time and money wasn’t that big.
If you proceed, you’ll need to raise funds. 500 x $50 is 25K. That seems a bit steep. This is where you ask yourself: what do you want to accomplish? Will you settle for an apology? A printed retraction? A promise not to do it again? Or do you want to make them bleed? (I think you need an injured party for that).
Or do you want to target Anti English Spectrum itself? Or Mr Lee himself? Who’s the defendant? You might have to pick the defendant based on whatever crime the lawyer says may have been committed.
You need money. Maybe an angry blogger like Brian, or one with a history like ZenKimchi, might sell you their mailing list – maybe they’d give it to you free. You could direct mail people, ask for their $50. Facebook lets you make ads, too. Anyway, I wouldn’t worry about that. If you were actually going to sue The Man, it would go viral. Awareness would be guaranteed. Whether that awareness would transmit into actual donations, I can’t say. But if you got this far, I’d give you another hundred.
Put me in for a contribution and more if the vibe is right.
Who are you guys going to sue exactly? As far as I can see, no-one’s done anything wrong (aside from the jackass in question).
The article is an interview with a nutjob. No crime in that. Half the interest in the article is how curiously extreme he is. Sure you’ve probably got a lot of Koreans who generally sympathize with his crusade, but there are probably more who think he’s gone off the deep ened. Whatever the case its a colorful piece in a local rag.
You’d be better off finding out who the guy is and suing him,. I’m sure he’s broken some sort of law if he stalking whities and sniffing out STDs. Better still, make a mockery of him (spoof interview for example, or maybe a vid of stalking him with his reaction at the end of it). Something playing up the Korean foreign man hate thing. Make it funny. Start a youtube channel. Embarrass people.
(Interesting, loosely associated aside: the KKK was eventually destroyed not because of the feds or the courts or any other forcible means, but by one guy who infiltrated them and found out their secret signs and passwords and published them in a newspaper. The group was so humiliated its membership dried up overnight.)
At the end of the day the attitude towards foreign men and the pre-pubescent way the K media plays it up isn’t going to change. And at the end of the day, the losers are not foreigners (who just end up walking away from Korea at the end of the day), it’s the Korean people. They’re the ones who have to deal with their growing reputation for being hate-mongers.
Talk to expats on their way out of Japan and it’s almost always positive. Talk to your average expat leaving Korea, and you get a lot of grumpiness. That’s the outbound Korean brand, sad to say.
“Talk to expats on their way out of Japan and it’s almost always positive.”
That’s why it’s difficult for many innocent Occidentals to understand that the little boys from the islands could have behaved like Taleban, like beheading, a few decades ago. They only see the polite smiles.
By the way, Seoul Shinmun is a fringe paper, and few people read it, unless it has changed recently.
Pawikirogi “retires” from posting in mid-2008. This creep pops up, espousing similar values and beliefs about “The Expat”. Coincidence?
Babarian was around before Pawi left, and his writing style is different.
sex at knifepoint,
sounds like something Korean women have said to provide as an excuse for having sex with foreign men.
1/why are they offering an excuse?
2/is it really far fetched, sex at knife point? Must have either A/ really happened B/Is a popular line used by Korean women.
How’s sex at gunpoint? Happens a lot in the US, don’t it? Part of the reason why young white women fear going into US inner cities, isn’t it?
Come on now, when a young white women disappears, local tv news in the US goes bonkers.
Sex at knifepoint doesn’t sound that far-fetched. Gun ownership isn’t existant in Korea to the extent it is in the US.
One thing scientific about his claim is that, HIV/AIDS is not native to Korea.
HIV/AIDS came from outside of Korea. That is able to be proven by science.
I challenge you to pay attention to the list of questions you have to answer when you donate blood, which I recently did.
“Pawikirogi “retires” from posting in mid-2008. This creep pops up, espousing similar values and beliefs about “The Expat”. Coincidence?”
It shows the level of insight of a slim angel.
I’m down for fifty, maybe more. I cannot say often enough how much this man disgusts me.
Also, if Byuntees or Babo Shirts would care to offer a t-shirt which expresses disapproval of this organization (profane or otherwise), I will happily purchase it. Even though I know damn well that I could probably get sued over it.
I may have found my hill to die on.
Hmmm . . . y’know, upon further consideration, wearing an obscene t-shirt doesn’t seem like such a bold response (though Babo and Byuntee, if you’re reading, I’m still game). Maybe I could start an anti-Anti-English Spectrum Cafe website. Unlike that of my nemesis, MY site would be bi-lingual.
#32,
Here’s a novel idea: next time you post, try abstaining from ‘tu quoque’ arguments and red herrings.
#32 wjk is making an attempt at ridiculous accusations and anti-waygook rambling.
nonsensical, completely unrelated mish mash of bad things he thinks westerners do and are responsible for.
Go back to school!
“Talk to expats on their way out of Japan and it’s almost always positive.”
That’s why it’s difficult for many innocent Occidentals to understand that the little boys from the islands could have behaved like Taleban, like beheading, a few decades ago. They only see the polite smiles.
babarian, you’re the exact type of hateful Korean I was talking about when I mentioned Brand Korea.
The Japanese of today are not the Japanese who occupied Korea. The war ended in 1945. That’s more than 60 years ago: two generations. If the minimum age of involvement is say 20 years old, the only people left in Japan (who weren’t killed in the war) are more than 80 years old.
Here’s a little story for you: I just read my grandfather’s memoirs (he died a few months back) He fought the Japanese in Malaya, and while he was recovering from a shrapnel wound in a field hospital they brought a wounded Japanese soldier in. My grandad gave his blood to save his life, even though many of his friends had died at the hands of this man’s fellow soldiers.
Contrast that with the attitude of young Koreans today who have probably never even met a Japanese person, yourself included. Like I said before, that’s the Korean brand: imature, hateful and petty.
#32 – “One thing scientific about his claim is that, HIV/AIDS is not native to Korea.”
Wow, now he’s a scientist! HIV/AIDS isn’t really “native” to the United States, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa – the countries from which most teachers in Korea come from – so on that basis, I guess that he need only be concerned about English teachers of Congolese origin. Come to think of it, cars, microchips, Western medicine, chili peppers, and good beer aren’t native to Korea either. Guess those need to be purged too.
but, you agree AIDS is an import?
shut the fuck up.
you are indirectly agreeing with what I’m saying.
You’re having an orgasm because I’m saying it.
AIDS was present in North America/Europe before it was ever present in the Korean peninsula.
all right, let’s say it all together now. It came from AFRICA.
you can double, triple, quadruple check on that one, alright?
no need to be politically correct here.
I’m not mongering anything.
is it so wrong to say that AIDS is not native to Korea?
It’s an absolutely true statement.
your extensions of cars, chips, peppers, just serve to go a round about way to deny the AIDS argument.
hey, potato, tobacco, cocaine, coffee, are from America, not Europe. Stop consuming those products. Purge them out of your body, alright?
cars. Koreans make cars at a profit. Americans make cars to subsidize deadbeat unions, at a huge loss.
Koreans make decent microchips at decent prices, enough to have a good share of the market.
western medicine. No contest. North America, Japan and Europe are leaders on that.
Peppers. I personally like the peppers used in Korean cuisine better.
beer. Europe/Japan makes good beer. America/Korea makes bad beer. Budweiser should not be allowed to sell beer.
I’d rather have AIDS than drink Korean beer.
#40 – “but, you agree AIDS is an import?
shut the fuck up.”
A typically desperate and rude response from an ill-mannered moron. Next time you come over to Korea – assuming you can still find your way around the place without the latest copy of Lonely Planet – grow a set, call me up, and tell me that to my face.
“all right, let’s say it all together now. It came from AFRICA.”
You also apparently require some remedial English reading lessons because in my post I identified – correctly, according to most research – that HIV/AIDS originated in Africa, most likely the Congo to be speficic. The point is that this fact is being used by xenophobes – possibly including self-loathing haters such as yourself – to further their anti-foreigner agenda.
#40 – “I’d rather have AIDS than drink Korean beer.”
I wouldn’t go that far. Like Korean taxi fares, 2500 won for a 500 cc mug is excellent value. (Yikes, that’s like only US$ 1.70! Currency depreciation isn’t so bad after all.)
A certain cretinous initialed poster claims to be schooling to be a doctor. I believe I’d avoid a doctor with those initials like I’d avoid AIDS.
Contrary to what some people here believe, I do not harbour particularly negative feelings toward the Western nationals in general. I actually have very high regard for some of them.
Usually the Koreans who harbour strong negative feelings toward Americans are the lefties, and I’m far from the lefties.
My earlier comment was meant to point out that it’s difficult for people of different cultures to know a certain people after spending a relatively short period of time and make accurate judgements. But more so in the case of Whites vs Japanese, as the former is far more open-minded than the latter, which leads some Japanese think ‘We know you, but you don’t really know us.’
“The Japanese of today are not the Japanese who occupied Korea.”
I’m not as optimistic as you are.
“He fought the Japanese in Malaya, and while he was recovering from a shrapnel wound in a field hospital they brought a wounded Japanese soldier in. My grandad gave his blood to save his life, even though many of his friends had died at the hands of this man’s fellow soldiers.”
That’s exactly why I said I have very high regard for some Western nationals. I have lived for significant period of time in Western countries.
And finally, I’m not exactly a young man, and I have dealt with hundreds of Japanese through my business some years ago and visited their country earlier.
i never said I’d avoid AIDS. You’re stupid. The statement “I’d avoid AIDS” and physician doesn’t even jive together. I just said AIDS came from outside of Korea.
Cretinous? Using your own initials is standard for many famous people, corps, and entities.

There are ~3000 AIDS cases in the ROK and half of those are homosexuals, while a large number of the female half are sex workers. Sex tourism is an extremely likely route into the country. Thailand was an AIDS hot-spot during the initial spread.
Anyone else read about the guy who they cured of AIDS? They gave him a bone marrow transplant from someone who doesn’t express a necessary surface receptor for infection. I’d always wondered why they didn’t try that since I heard about CXCR4 knockouts not suffering any ill effects in 2001…
CCR5.
the only scientific support for the urban legend that whites don’t get AIDS, while blacks do.
there are many blacks who still angrily believe adamantly that white scientists created AIDS to kill black people.
I’ll save my words on that subject.
Although I see no reason to be politically correct.
when I donated blood, they wanted as much out of me as possible.
they were so eager.
I refused to lie there for more than an hour. I have shit to do, too.
seriously, go check out the list of questions you have to check off on to donate blood in the United States. Look it up on google/yahoo, if you want.
I am a model citizen.
Just what does this nonsense about AIDS and Africa (above) have to do with the sad xenophobe who founded the anti-English Spectrum cafe and the libelous Seoul Shinmun?
Someone should also moderate this off-topic rambling and trolling that seems to have taken over this thread.
well, babo ya,
one of the claims against the English teacher in Korea, is that he is the vector of STD’s into Korea.
in regards to the man’s many, many claims, I am simply saying there is ONE valid point that is really quite valid. Foreigners gave AIDS to Koreans.
Foreigners gave AIDS to Koreans in Korea.
you do know that the US govt doesn’t accept immigration of people with HIV/AIDS, right? Neither does Korea.
First of all, you don’t know these guys/gals will keep their words on whether or not they will not engage in risky sex and keep mum about it with their unsuspecting partners. The concept of a no-sex-nanny to monitor them is almost too overwhelming in feasibility and cost.
It’s common knowledge that some waegookins have left “PS, I have AIDS, but I liked banging you” letters to Korean women after a break up.
They fueled the fear themselves.
Secondly, it costs money to treat AIDS. US govt uses US govt tax dollars to treat US citizens with AIDS. Asking too much to have foreigners fly in, settle in, and get life long AIDS treatment from US tax payers. Or Korean tax payers. I doubt Korean National Health Insurance pays for HAART therapy.
you just don’t like me.
Foreigners have left, PS, I have AIDS, letters to Korean women. There is some blame there.
I don’t support the man above. Most points are not valid.
Are you denying the presence of a sex trade in Korea? Isn’t it just as likely that sex tourism on the part of Korean males in Thailand and the Philippines was the primary vector for the introduction of AIDS into Korea?
sex trade in Korea is surely present.
Let me screw up your brain, then.
How did the prostitutes in Thailand and Phillipines get AIDS?
Is it from their men traveling and banging North American/African/European hoes, and then giving it to their native hoes?
it’s a chicken or the egg question, but ultimately it came from a foreigner.
that’s the only possible way.
now, it’s world wide, so it doesn’t matter much.
However, I support HIV testing, IF they required it of gyopos as well, not only foreigners.
Many, many US gyopos would probably be unfit to donate blood in the US. Why aren’t they testing them for HIV? It’s outrageous !
@wjk
Like many commenters on the Hole, I ignore you, because most of what you say is retarded. Whether you’re claiming that Obama is a covert Al-Queda agent/Black Panther/crypto-Stalin loyalist, or just typing random words about AIDS that, if touching on a rational thought, do so purely coincidentally, I lose out just by addressing you.
However, in comment #40, you wrote that American beer is bad. That, sir, is blatantly false. Maybe if you are intent on only spending $15 for a case, then, yes, you may be under the impression that American beer sucks. I will admit that CHEAP American beer sucks.
But if you honestly cannot find any good beer in America, you are clearly not looking very hard. May I suggest you try looking in a beer store? Try something local, and don’t be afraid to try a beer just because they don’t advertise on TV. Don’t expect any change from your twenty. You’ll thank me.
Also, to keep this thread somewhat on topic, anti-English Spectrum is run by hateful assholes.
Wjk is a hateful racist who believes foreigners are dirty harbingers of AIDS. “ultimately it came from a foreigner.” His underlying belief is that Korea and Koreans were pure and wholesome and good but are now being fouled by foreigners. He would, I’m sure, love to see every last dirty one of us leave. He would be very disappointed, indeed, to hear about how busy I am with the work of making mixed-blood babies with my Korean wife.
wjk isn’t someone who Pohang claims he is.
wjk doesn’t say foreigners are harbingers of disease.
AIDS did come from outside of Korea. Stop dancing around that point, and accusing me of things that I am not, saying things I did not say. The dude above says foreigners brought STDs. He’s mostly wrong, but regarding AIDS, he’s right.
No, no, no. You stay. You stay and make babies, ok?
Just make sure you don’t leave your kids later, and develop half Korean children who loathe their non-Korean fathers, but love their Korean mommies.
Comparing American small brand beer to German or Japanese brands who operate and produce on the same scale as Bud, Miller, and Coors, is not fair.
Foreigners fueled it themselves, with ‘PS, I have AIDS, good bye’ letters.
If Korean males engaging in sex tourism in Thailand brought AIDS back to Korea with them then you can’t really say that foreigners brought AIDS to Korea. The only real way to settle the debate is through some data on which strains of AIDS are most prevalent in Korea.
WJK
“foreigners gave AIDS to Koreans”
as if it is some sort of sinister plot.
I would bet my balls that the majority of AIDS cases in Korea were caused by Korean men having unprotected sex with hookers in southeast Asia. Koreans (& Japanese) are well known for going to places like Thailand & the Philippines and banging hookers without using condoms. They have been the biggest reason AIDS is in Korea!
“foreigners gave AIDS to Korea”
F*CK YOU! Ridiculous assclown!
“It’s common knowledge that some waegookins have left “PS, I have AIDS, but I liked banging you” letters to Korean women after a break up.”
If this is such COMMON knowledge, it must be documented in the Korean press. Please provide the links.
One idiot did it. ONLY ONE
it made the news
I guess some morons think it is some kind of epidemic
the guy who did do it did not have AIDS
1) “one of the claims against the English teacher in Korea, is that he is the vector of STD’s into Korea.”
2) “there is ONE valid point that is really quite valid. Foreigners gave AIDS to Koreans.”
Since when are English teachers the only foreigners in Korea? Don’t muddy the argument.
Benicio, he didn’t have HIV/AIDS, but 2 Korean prostitutes (in Daejeon and Daegu??) did, plus the one gay Korean man in Itaewon(?) also… Very high profile stories years back. The gay Korean went out spreading HIV on purpose before he was caught, and the prostitutes were both knowingly working with HIV, scaring 100s of Korean men into getting tested.
But let’s put all the blame on the English teacher, right wjk?
unless, you’re really dense, a news article represents only a fraction of what really goes on in the real world.
let me fry your brain as well.
how did the southeast prostitutes get it? Special white/black cock, right?
Korea didn’t always require HIV tests for foreigners. I think, I am GUESSING, but Japan started testing first, and Korea followed suit.
Have fun.
Are we degrading the women? Geez. I didn’t realize. What about the 350,000 koreans a day that visit a sex worker?
First, on the Aids thing, the genie is out of the bottle here in Korea. There is no going back. Stopping a few foreigners from entering who have Aids will not slow disease’s progression. The only way would have been to quarantine everyone who entered Korea for two weeks, including Koreans, and then test them, before the disease entered Korea. You could do the same thing now, if you performed a general aids test, and another one 2 weeks later, and quarantined all the positives on some island somewhere. Baring this it was done/was going to happen anyway, and Aids tests for any any one type of visa that is not a sex worker visa, (if they actually exist anywhere, although the entertainment one functions as such here), that is not for all visas is a slap in the face.
Secondly, this guy is a douche. He is pulling the kind of lines KKK members used to save for their public performances. It is just a matter of time before him and his goons start pulling beat downs on whitey and get more extreme. I’m up for a 50 for legal against him. (I’m guessing marmot has my e-mail should this get off the ground.)
63 comments now, but Linkd summed it up @2.
btw, if I recall, that letter from the Aussie dude who WJacKass refers to for threatening his ex-gf K-girl with AIDS… pretty sure it was shown to be false.

…not that it’s needed to make wjk look like a bigger fool… but just in case anyone didn’t catch the background.
no one proved it was a fake letter.
that’s Sonagi-esque bullshit.
She probably doesn’t qualify to donate blood in the US.
I qualify to donate blood in the US.
Again, just for shits and giggles, check out what is required to be an ideal blood donor in the United States of America.
A lot of you won’t qualify.
There’s no doubt you qualify to donate your pure pure blood, it’s hard to get STI’s when the only action you ever get is stroking it to the wondergirls. Congratulations, you’re a wanker!

Aids is a naturally occurring disease. There is no one to blame. The reason it has spread all the over world is because human beings are very sexually active and are also habitual wayfarers. The reason it is spreading in Korea is because Koreans are just as sexually active as the rest of the world. We are just as responsible for the spread of the disease as everyone else. You just can’t say it’s a import, because there are as many Koreans travelling outbound as there are non-Koreans travelling inbound to Korea and vice versa. Maybe if Korea was a completely segregated society and Aids started to spread after the introduction foreign people than you can say foreigners brought the disease upon us. But Korea is not a segregated society is it.
You know you sound a lot like the guy on the anti-English Spectrum cafe. You should join his team, I’m sure they will appreciate your sentiments about Aids and foreigners.
Yes, wjk should put his energy into joining the anti-waygook team, so he and the other guy can take turns wanking each other off!
Is the Anti-English Spectrum douchebag going to do anything about this Korean “teacher”? As if.

How exactly are foreigners the problem again?
I have a sincere question, if anyone is still listening. In your opinion, would this organization qualify as a hate group? I did some digging around online to try and find an international registry for hate groups, but I haven’t found anything that really fits so far. Human Right Watch handles things like this, but it seems silly to bother them with little shits like these clowns when they’re trying to draw attention to genocide in Darfur and whatnot.
What do you think? Are these guys a hate group? Is it worth trying to bring international attention to them?
A hate group? Not really. They seem FUELED by hate, but if their mission statement is to kick out illegal language teachers or drug users, I don’t think you can compare that with a group like the KKK. If the folks at Anti-English Spectrum Café starts doing more than snooping and calling the cops and they start trying to administer their own extrajudicial punishment, then that’s a different story.
These guys are not a “hate group.” They’re merely a bunch of xenophobic haters. If they want to hunt down druggies and illegal whatevers, then that’s their prerogative no matter what their motivation is. If some of them surveil foreigners and their only complaint to the cops is that the foreigner shacked up with a Korean… they should get a life.
I think they do qualify as a hate group. If you read the comments on the link to the original article you will find a university prof who was targeted for writing a book seen as derogatory toward Korea. He had done nothing illegal, but the group pushed to get him fired. Assuming that’s true, which doesn’t seem much of a stretch to stalking people because they are foreign, it pushes it over the line to a hate group in my mind. Just because they claim all they do is hunt down illegal foreigners, doesn’t mean that’s all they actually do. Regardless, stalking random foreigners is enough to make this group seem pretty f’n creepy and dangerous to me.
