If Bill Clinton can be America’s first black president, why can’t Barack Obama be America’s first Asian-American president?
The following is a translation of part of a larger article that will appear in December issue of the Korean journal Jayugongnon (자유 고론):
Yes, America now has its first African-American president — and you might ask when might we expect an Asian-American president? Well, it has already been suggested Barack Obama fits that description. He grew up in an environment of Asian values in the Asian majority state of Hawaii and spent 4 formative years in Indonesia, where his mother would wake him up early to study for hours before sending him to school. He was then sent back to live with grandparents in Hawaii for the sole purpose of getting him into a good school, which would prepare him to get into a good university, and ultimately into Harvard. Does this sound familiar?
I got it via the Korea Economic Review email newsletter, so no link.
In related news, it seems that the Minnesota Senate race may come down to who wins the idiot vote.

He grew up in an environment of Asian values……He was then sent back to live with grandparents in Hawaii for the sole purpose of getting him into a good school…..
I guess the Asian values were not condusive to ensuring he received a good education in the Asian environment
Touche.
I don’t think he’s letting us in on how good/bad his mother and step father were to him.
4 years and live in Hawaii?
Kind of sounds fishy.
Grandma Toots was more a mother to him than his own mother?
Kind of sounds fishy.
If he was really having the “Asian” experience, he’d have experienced plenty of “that’s not my son” from step dad.
Kind of sounds fishy.
No doubt he grew up with a lot of hurt feelings.
McCain spent a considerable amount of his productive adult life with Gook prison guards.
McCain also adopted a girl from Bangladesh.
He’s not Asian American by association?
Obama is the new Messiah.
Didn’t you know?
We, the American People, and the Korean Americans, will put any spin feasible, to make Obama look more universal, omni-everthing, because when we look at Obama, listen to Obama,
we have HOPE.
I hope you recognize sarcasm.
“Obama is the new Messiah.”
According only to sour obsessed conservatives, not anyone else. So stop with the messiah b#llshit. And if you claim to be a christian as you do, then you need a crash course on blasphemy.
And we all know that you have been referring to him “sarcastically” as the messiah for months along with people like Rush Limbaugh. It gets to a point where it becomes beyond old…. Wait, what the hell am I doing trying to argue with wjk? *punches self*
The Messiah thing came about in reference to black church groups and their reactions to a Black President in America.
I invite you to do your own image/video search of these things.
They literally quote Obama like a Biblical prophet, and shout religioius-like slogans.
The African American church supported OJ Simpson as well in the past. This is documented truth.
I’m sure the white man has done wrongs to the African Americans that I will never even feel or appreciate, but they are guilty of putting race issues ahead of church doctrine, and sometimes plain morality.
I am not the blasphemer. They are.
I have been to a black church. I went because of convenience and curiosity. Just once. The only church in my lifetime, where they charged $1 for a church bulletin. I am not lying.
In light of the terrorist gun slinging that killed 100+ people in what would be considered downtown India,
I’d like to take this place to say,
Thank you, George W. Bush, for keeping Americans safe in America.
oh, yes. The African American church was using a white-flighted, obviously, formerly white church building.
Obama is targetting Korean Auto manufacturers to be the scapegoat of economic problems.
Obama loves Asians with the exception of Koreans.
This is one of the reasons why Korean won is nose-diving.
Annoying, that, how Korea Economic Review doesn’t include links.
