Georgia Governor gets a shiny new Kia

by Andy Jackson on November 17, 2008

You can’t mock Kia anymore, at least not in Georgia (Atlanta Journal-Constitution):

Sonny Perdue now drives a Kia. Occasionally.

The jet-black, $37,500 Borrego sport-utility vehicle showed up in the governor’s Capitol parking spot last month, a gift to the state from the South Korean car maker — which is building a $1.2 billion plant in west Georgia.

The rest of the AJC opinion piece is worth a read.

Kias have been coming out with some very nice designs recently.

Let’s all chip in and send a saddled cow to the main opposition party here. Least we can do. Mano y Car-o y Cow-o

But seriously, Korean cars have come a long way since the $5999 Sonata way back in the day. My friend bought one. First rain my knees got drenched as water seeped in through the windshield. Probably some fancy interior cleaning system we weren’t aware of. Crafty.

It’s always good to have a few congressmen up your sleeve… ;)
