The United States is proposing the drafting of a detailed contingency plan for regime collapse in North Korea, reports the Korea Times and Chosun Ilbo.
What I dislike about this is that it’s the United States raising the issue rather than the South Koreans, given that it’s the latter rather than the former that would be absolutely up shit’s creek if Pyongyang gave up the Holy Ghost and a concrete plan wasn’t in place.
Yet, alas…

You can bet China has a plan.
I’m not familiar with the above-mentioned “shit’s creak.” Is there really a creaking sound produced by excrement?
I am, however, well familiar with “Shit Creek,” having been told many times by my father, in my younger days, that I was dangerously close to venturing up that stream, and that it would behoove me to avoid those waters.
I believe South Korea already has a plan, consisting of the folllowing:
* Wave sky-blue peninsula flags at soccer games.
* Issue lots of joint declarations with the North.
* Hold numerous ceremonies, with the obligatory flower arrangements and banners, at which white-gloved South Korean officials promise unification and have their photos taken.
You mean that’s not enough to ensure unification?
I think it is so cute whenever the words “plan” and “Korea” appear at the sam time.
North Korea’s unification plan, at least as far as economic equalization is concerned, is to turn South Korea into debris.

All this over a few balloons? Surely not.
You mean that’s not enough to ensure unification?
You heard about the election in 2007, right? LMB might not be the best and smartest but he’s no Roh.
Speaking of America to the rescue, what will the dollar-won currency swap mean for the KRW if it really happens?
