Yeah, that is an odd comment for someone to make. In my mind it almost supports the fact he was losing a lot of money gambling. Most people would never mention something like that, unless they had had a problem and had reformed, or was still a gambling their savings away. Statements like that usually come from people who have been or are being burned by a thing.
