Korean War Sites Registered as Cultural Properties

by Robert Koehler on September 30, 2008

To mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the ROK military (Oct 1), the Cultural Heritage Administration has registered a couple of military-related sites as cultural properties, including the first Korean-built aircraft, the Buhwal (Rebirth), produced in 1953:

Some other sites being registered are the old ROK Army and ROK Marine training centers on Jeju-do, the ruins of a UN crematorium in Yeoncheon, Waegwan Railway Bridge and the Battle of Seolmari Memorial honoring the British troops who fought in that battle.

The sites were named for registration in June.
