Was out during lunch with the camera, so I took some quick shots of the Gwangtonggyo, near the Cheonggyecheon on Namdaemun-no. Like some of the old architecture in Daehang-no, the Gwangtonggyo was designed by the Takjibu (Finance Ministry) of the Daehan Empire. The original was completed in 1909, although it was rebuilt following a fire in 1915. Making use of Ionian columns and Baroque domes, it is one of the oldest and certainly one of the most beautiful bank buildings in Korea.
It takes its name from the old Gwangtonggyo Bridge, which was restored for the reopening of the Cheonggyecheon.

I like the first photo. The bent building looks like you used a wide angle lens.
BTW, are you the blog host? Do you review every comment? My comments are still in purgatory
I bank there every Wednesday night…it was built in, what, 1923?
Is the red (brick?) building in your last photo, also a historical building? The photo has a nice constrast between old and new me thinks.
