Just some snaps from Yangdong Village in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Welcome home. Yangdong Village is about ten minutes from where I live. A great place. Your photos remind me of something I learned after eleven years in country from, a Korean professor just a few days ago: Korean buildings are meant to be seen from the inside looking out.
Did you get to the old Shinto shrine in downtown while you were in Gyeongju?
Not this time. But I did last year:

Damn! I wish you had been in Yangdong, Robert. I, like the Western Confucian, also live about 10 minutes from there!
I wish *I had known* that you had been in Yangdong. WC, drop me a line at tmc1233 AT yahoo {dot} com. We seem to be neighbors…
