I do pride myself on endurance/tenacity, so I kept it paused and watched it in bits and pieces probably over an elapsed time of a few hours. I wonder if she’d have picked “Hyorish” if she understood the wordplay in English.

But then again, what else did I expect? I detest K-pop, and I don’t understand what my fellow Koreans/Korean-Americans see in it.

26 Roboseyo July 20, 2008 at 8:45 am: ps: enjoy it now. . . by the end of August, after hearing it come out of three of every seven shops you walk past for a whole month, it’ll make you wanna stick your fingers in a pencil sharpener. . . but on its own merits, catchy as hell. Why does every good/catchy/fun song have to get run into the ground with overplay?

On the other hand, after, you know a three-year detox period, the songs I enjoyed in 2003 before they got run into the ground, are fun again.

Kind of like hearing TLC’s “Waterfalls” on the radio and remembering, “Hey, this WAS a good song, before I got sick of it back in ’96.” Still can’t handle “My Heart Will Go On,” though.

What was the song YOU liked the most before it got overplayed and ruined?

I’d say “Hey Ya” but it never actually got ruined for me — I liked it right to the bitter end.
