I understood it back then to mean "outside" (外) and didn't consider that there was a specific character for Japan (with a different spelling). I don't remember if they put the character at the bottom of the screen or not. I thought about the spelling for a second before posting since I don't like to be wrong (Oh well), but I needed to go home and didn't take enough time to look it up. I really need to study Chinese to improve my Korean, but there always seems to be too many other things to do. :(

"Motivated by things like fishing, EEZ and natural gas."

Remove natural gas and insert sovereign rights.

"Naming your own ships is quite different from a foreign country declaring territory that you control as their own."

It's different when this foreign country considers their territory being occupied by their opponent.Naming an military vessel on disputed territory is pretty provocative.

"You mean that incident which Japan initiated by breaking from the status quo? "

Japan hasn't broken any status quo.It only confirmed it's long standing position on Takeshima.

"Yes, because a few disgruntled middle aged soldiers killing pheasants represents the views and actions of the Korean government and every South Korean man, woman and child."

Like Robert,I agree these zealots action don't represent EVERYONE.But it also happens to be a fact that they've been around from time to time and so far,no one in Korea seems to be doing anything.
And Pheasant slaying is just one example of Dokdo lunacy along with those pictures by school chldren on subway station,Beeman,Politicians stepping on Japanese flags,"No Japanese" signs around shops and restaurants,largest circulating paper priniting cartoon with caricatualized Japanese with bald head and buck teeth.

And this.

Is it true that this thing was made as Public Advertisement?

"What is their to defend when you don’t even control the tiniest pebble on the island? "

Perhaps,you never read the Japanese constitution.It prohibits the use of arms to solve the international disputes,including the self defense.

"Do you even know how the ICJ works?"

Actually I do and you are wrong.
You can't go to ICJ unless both sides agree to solve the case there,and normally the diputed territory remains under status quo while the case is solved in ICJ.(Otherwise no one will use ICJ to settle their case)
What you are typing is based on ill minded conspiracy theory.

"It still doesn’t change the fact Japan has territorial dispute with all her neighbors and that it is Japan who always starts these issues and throws the first stone."

And I'm not even counting NK here.
South Korea also has dispute with China on continnental sea bed in Yellow sea and on Socotra rock.Some thinks Gando is their territory and Korean paper is making a fuss over Changbai Mountain recently of which China wants to develop as a tourist destination.
So much for the high morals.

We had a diplomatic crisis with Taiwan about a month ago,but it was Taiwanese fishing vessel violated our waters and crushed into our coast guard.Somehow,Tokyo apologized and issued the will for compensation to the ship owners because Taiwan threatened for military action(and send in survey ships escorted by their coast guards")All this with Japan lifting a single finger.

"Japanese are just bitter at seeing their fractured empire going to the dust. As well as the sad state of their economy."

Our empire has gone for about sixty years and our economy grew larger only after the empire was lost.It wasn't all that bad.

And about the sad state of economy,we've been in that state for about siteen years.We can live with that.
The point is how much Korea can live with that sort of economical state with not so much social welfare like Japan but lots and lots of strikes and mass rally.

Your claims are all outrageous.No wonder you got kicked out from Japan Probe.

"""Never even heard a single J-politician speak as such,even the one from Shimane.(the late LDP bigshot and former PM Noboru Takeshita had electoral district in Shimane prefecture,yet he was the head of Japan-Korea congressmen league.)"""

Im not talking in the literal sense genius. Its clear what the motives of the Japanese government are. Motivated by things like fishing, EEZ and natural gas.
===
"""That’s not true.
http://www.rjkoehler.com/2005/03/29/tokdos-navy/"""

Koreans can name their destroyers whatever they want. Naming your own ships is quite different from a foreign country declaring territory that you control as their own.

Very different. Its a pity you cant seem to distinguish between apples and oranges eh?
===
"""Like day before yesterday?"""

You mean that incident which Japan initiated by breaking from the status quo? Give up. You cant win this argument. Its clear as day that Japan brought this issue up for no reason. Nothing more then another blatant attempt at Japan trying to seek attention by starting fights.
===
"""Let’s talk more about that after one of our zealots beat a magpie to death with a hammer and flung it at the Korean Embassy in Tokyo."""

Yes, because a few disgruntled middle aged soldiers killing pheasants represents the views and actions of the Korean government and every South Korean man, woman and child.

Excuse me while I go roll my eyes and laugh. PS: Do you think before you type?
===
"""There’s one.And it’s in right next to you."""

Uhhh Dokdo isnt Japanese. Nor is Japan defending Takeshima from Koreans. Dokdo is Korean and its controlled by Koreans. The Korean navy patrols it waters and its mass is also occupied by Koreans. Even the Japanese government acknowledges this fact(Dokdo and its waters being in control of Korea) and must oblige Koreas sovereignty over the islands.

Japan isn't "defending" Takeshima because Takeshima doesn't exist. Japan has no control over the islands. What is their to defend when you don't even control the tiniest pebble on the island? Japan is not defending so much as making a claim. And illegitimate and weak one might I add.
===
"""I don’t think moral has much to do with territorial disputes,but the size of the boundary.Anyway,how about using ICJ to prove Korea’s “credibility”?
We’ve been asking this since 1954."""

Do you even know how the ICJ works? In order for Koreans to go to court, they must first relinquish control of Dokdo and agree with the Japanese government that its a disputed territory. In doing so neither country would be the owner of Dokdo. This will allow Japanese ships to not only encroach on Dokdo(which is no longer Korean) but also to fish and mine Dokdo of resources without the Korean governments consent. The ICJ does not happen over night. A court date must be set and Japan can simply A. Refuse to go to court after Dokdo becomes a disputed territory, B. Go to court and delay to proceedings year after year, C. Go to court, lose and demand a retrial which will set in motion another dragged out court day. The ICJ will accomplish nothing and thats exactly what the Japanese government wants. If you don't know the Japanese governments motives. They don't actually plan on using or winning in the ICJ. They only want to turn Dokdo into a disputed territory so that they can use its resources without being fired upon.

What the Japanese are doing is vile and disgraceful. They are manipulating the system in an attempt to take territory that they do no control. I laugh whenever someone uses the ICJ excuse. As if its legitimate or proves anything.

"""Yeah,and I’ve been repeating this for three different occasion on this blog,but Korea is also having territorial disputes with every single one of it’s neighbors too.
It’s just Korea only has two foreign neighbors and Japan has more."""

Oh please. North Korea and South Korea have been at each others throat for quite a while. The Korean war has never ended and both countries consider themselves the legitimate Korean government while the other an impostor. Your comparison for Korea is weak. It still doesn't change the fact Japan has territorial dispute with all her neighbors and that it is Japan who always starts these issues and throws the first stone. Like that other guy said in the previous topic. The Japanese are just bitter at seeing their fractured empire going to the dust. As well as the sad state of their economy.
===
"""And it’s kinda funny you only responded to “gook” as if it’s the only derogatory term used around here."""

Did I ever state that it was the only derogatory term used? Quit making things. I generally don't like the term nor do I enjoy other racist terms of other nationalities.
===
"""My advice to you,VG866.Think before you type."""

I suggest you follow your own advice.

What the Japanese are doing is vile and disgraceful. They are manipulating the system in an attempt to take territory that they do no control. I laugh whenever someone uses the ICJ excuse. As if its legitimate or proves anything.

“”"Yeah,and I’ve been repeating this for three different occasion on this blog,but Korea is also having territorial disputes with every single one of it’s neighbors too.
It’s just Korea only has two foreign neighbors and Japan has more.”"”

Oh please. North Korea and South Korea have been at each others throat for quite a while. The Korean war has never ended and both countries consider themselves the legitimate Korean government while the other an impostor. Your comparison for Korea is weak. It still doesn’t change the fact Japan has territorial dispute with all her neighbors and that it is Japan who always starts these issues and throws the first stone. Like that other guy said in the previous topic. The Japanese are just bitter at seeing their fractured empire going to the dust. As well as the sad state of their economy.
===
“”"And it’s kinda funny you only responded to “gook” as if it’s the only derogatory term used around here.”"”

Did I ever state that it was the only derogatory term used? Quit making things. I generally don’t like the term nor do I enjoy other racist terms of other nationalities.
===
“”"My advice to you,VG866.Think before you type.”"”

I suggest you follow your own advice.
