#8
I read it in Mongolian website news www.sonin.mn yesterday morning. They were the only website that was updating the protest every hour or so.
But seems like they don't have it there anymore, and the latest news says 7 people got killed all protesters.

I've never heard of uudji, but asked my mom it's a long vest that is worn outside of a queen,or married women's costume.

Not sure where else to put this comment, but it looks like China has seen large-scale rioting in Guizhou Province in response to (assumed) police negligence in investigating the death of a 15/16 year old girl. (via the IHT)

Between the relatively frequent use of protests and the not uncommon stories of children being killed, kidnapped, or sexually assaulted in Korea I wonder what it would take for residents here to form unruly protests/riots as a means of raising awareness for that particular issue. Admittedly the Mongolian and Chinese incidents are marked by police violence that is absent from the typical Korean protest. Still, I wonder what influence the Olympic torch and anti-beef rallies - as well as the recent events in nearby Mongolia and China brought about through distrust in the government - will have on future large-scale protests in Korea.

Yurt is for Kazakhs(or other Turkic people)Ger is for Mongolians.

Never even heard of "Uudji" and it looks like a "del" to my eyes.

Anyway,I ask you too have some serious purge on this site. Some commenters here are just unbearable.

Solongo, where did you heard of "two cops had been killed"?
The info in hand is five dead and they are all Democrat supporting protesters.

First , what the fuck is an uudji?
Second, of course I live in a yurt, I'm a Mongolian for god's sake, what did you expect?
Third, I drink fermented horse milk. Just because you drink urine doesn't mean everybody else drinks it too.
Get your facts right! ok! you pathetic egregious schmuck.

One Japanese journalist(stringer) from FUJI TV got a broken skull.
He is now on emergnecy plane either to Beijing or Tokyo. This is the man who was reporting the Democtrats were gaining more popularity based on the poll on the eve of election.

Major J-media is scrumbling to cover the news, since there were many media oulets covering the general election in UB for the moment, due to the ex-sumo wrestler Kyokushuzan running for Great Hural from the Democrats.(he got elected gaining the biggest vote). It may even effect the first-ever Sumo game in UB,planning to be held next month.
I'm now worried about my in-laws....
