Korea Beat has translated a very short story from the Chosun Ilbo about the discovery of a foreign English teacher who had been dead for several days in his apartment. The cause of death is yet unknown. He was found after a neighbor alerted police.

I think someone mentioned it in the Korea Beat comments, but unless a few of these days were a weekend where was the teacher’s boss?
I dunno - I’m just saying, I’ve had (Korean) bosses calling me in a panic when I’m running two or three minutes late! “Are you OK?”, “Where are you?”… Has my foreign teacher done a runner on me?….
Fan death takes another one.
Electric fans have wised up to the fact that they’re not feared by the foreign community, so they’re launching a full-scale assault.
Fan death. This time, it’s personal.

Thoughtless comments about expats who die in Korea… it isn’t just for Pawi anymore!
Well, the guy could have been on vacation. His death is not necessarily suspicious. I had friends who died of heart attacks at 32 and 33.
#4 It’s not totally inconceivable that the KNP and the Coroner will rule the unfortunate teacher’s demise an incident of fan-death, bastions of competency that they are.
