–Yeah, reporting quality has gone to hell in American media in general. Luckily, my piece hasn’t led to America being mired in an endless occupation in hostile territory, though based on the fusillade of comments on and off the piece (some well taken, some dumbass, many ultra-racist) it sure does feel that way

–I don’t approve or disapprove of anyone doing anything relationshipwise, as those who read the article to its conclusion might actually be aware: I think that government and media are lousy referees in the arena of sex and romance. However, it’s clear from the reaction to the article that everyone else is, too.

–Oh yes: The point of quoting “Dialectic” was to highlight the existence of loud, “politically incorrect” voices who persistently scathe the webwaves on this topic. You know, the kind of value-added commentators who reflexively call people “tools” and “nutizens” and dismiss their work as a “piece of shit” from a position of gleeful anonymity. They’re the best!

Now, the real problem with Jeff Yang’s article (Ghod, has the quality of “reporting” in the U.S. major dailies declined!):

1. He quotes a nutizen, “Dialectic”, who runs the “Fighting 44s” web-board, which itself is a cesspit of racism. He may as well have quoted someone off Stormfront. It’s that bad. Zero credibility for Yang.

2. Yang, in his opening, alludes to the real problem: Asian racism. The Asian male outmarriage rate suffers because of the racism of the parents, who look down on white people, despite having chosen to live in white-dominated countries. If these old-world racist Asian parents continually drum into their children the message that they can’t marry whites, how can whites be blamed? Ludicrous.

3. Yang blames the “white standard of beauty”. Another old canard. Well, if the white standard of beauty is so powerful, why then are white men marrying Asian women? Hmm? No one talks about that.

4. Yang quotes white women who like Asian men approvingly, without labeling them “Asiaphiles”. Hypocritical double standard.

The article was a piece of shit.
