Republic of Bloggers

by Robert Koehler on June 12, 2008

The Korea Society recently held a round-table discussion on the blogging cultures of the United States, Korea and Japan. Give the podcast a listen… if theoretical discussions of blogging is your sort of thing.

I’m listening to the Podcast. And I said myself “This guy seem to know a few things about Japan, but not well enough”.

So, I checked his blog at ObservingJapan.com

Is there a news blackout on Prime Minister Rudd’s visit to Japan?

He made a speech on climate change in Kyoto and visited Hiroshima on Monday, and neither Yomiuri nor Asahi have articles online about his activities.

Humm…strange.. I’ve just read a few articles about Mr. Rudd being Japan. And Mr. Rudd himself contributed to today’s Asahi newspaper.

I don’t know if he is a professional journalist or a part-time blogger. But he should do better if he claims to be an expat.
